North Wales Road Trip & EVO Triangle

I said I hit VTEC about 5 times.

I never said how long I was on cam for :p

Yeh but im just thinking back to my trip, and while 5000-7200 is very very fun in my car, i doubt i was in it that range much at all. Simply because once i was up to speed i was in 5th, and since the roads are so great/empty i had no need to slow down. So saying you only used vtec 5 times is probably pretty valid lol

Silly posts, awful spelling, crap attitude.

Not much as changed I suppose :p

dude, i been reading stuff from back in 2000-2004 due to someone passing away that i met during that period, and damn i was a absolute fool back then. Not MUCH has changed, i just tend to not post as much so it doesn't come across much lol.:p

Edit: just looking at the thread and toyos are on the wrong way and he has the worst tyres in history for wet driving on the rear, so no wonder it spun out :(

Hi Guys

Me and NathWraith recently went on a bit of a trip to Wales for the day. Plan was to take in some great driving roads and eventually end up at the beach.

Our route was from Shell services on the A34/A500 in Stoke on Trent/Newcastle over to Black Rock Sands via Porthmadog
First on the agenda was the Evo Triangle which was on the way to Porthmadog using the sat nav. The roads through Nantwitch were busy as we set off just before rush hour, once on the A5 things got a lot easier and the long sweeping bends were a joy to drive on.

Might have to try this some time. I wasn't aware of it and it looks great!

There would have to be plenty of petrol stations on that route though :o

Was it you I took out in my white M3 a while back? (with Gibbo)

Personally I don't think it's such a great idea. A group of cars driving hard is going to attract unwanted attention. It's also going to end up with someone showing off and doing a Darryn.

Sure;y that is the same for any OcUK motors meet no?

It was me :)

It's not uncommon for the local police to rock up in horse trailers around there, especially on a weekend....

its why i always go mid week ;) But i kept below the speed limit mostly anyway. I was talking to someone about the cat and the fiddle the other day, and they moaned about the 50mph average speed cameras ruining it. I dont think they have at all. Take the straights at 50mph, and try to take the bends at 50mph too, bends are where the fun is, not the straights.:D

budget cuts eh :p

in seriousness though, its all national speed limit and most of the roads, travelling at 50 is more than enough on the majority of this stretch of road.

yup, for instance the B4407 is a great road, and if you manage to get over 50mph you are doing well. Granted its a narrow road with passing places so a NSL on that is only 50?

To be fair, i go there for the driving roads and always end up driving slow looking at the scenery lol :D
