Hi all, my first post here so please be gentle.

I'm one of those reads a lot but rarely do. Well finally I did go out and put together a system with a budget of £1k (tower, contents, including windows).

Here it is anyways:

the 2500k is OCed to 4.6 @ 1.38v (peaks 1.392 sometimes). Temps are more than adequate.

Everything else is stock clocks (mem/gfx).

Now the path I want to go is as follows:
  1. Get another HD 6950 2GB to XFire
  2. Get one of those funky lcd fan controllers, mostly for novelty factor but I also want to be able to monitor things whilst a monitor isn't plugged in.
  3. Get a SSD to use as enhanced cache for the 1TB 6GB/s
  4. 2x 2TB 3GB/s in RAID 1 with each other
  5. Decent ish sound card for output

Now I'm pretty sure I'm able to fit 2x GFX cards and the sound card across the PCI slots on this mobo and everything else should plugin fine so I chose ok on the mb I believe. By the way I'm getting a second card because I'm pushing games to a 27" screen at 2560x1440 :)

-My question is I guess can the PSU support all this? Or how much of it can it do?

There are loads of threads that say a 650w can support the xfire (I doubt I need to OC the cards for a couple of years). But this is a bronze PSU.

-Would it be able to handle the rest, keeping my 2500k at 4.6ghz?

650W on 12V. Sirted / PCP&C oem.

6950 CF, 500W maximum load. I'd say around 520W with heavy overclock and gaming. I believe that's at teh plug as well, so take 85% of this and you get around 450W required.

So you have some headroom for crossfire.

Bronze means certified over 80% efficiency. So, good. It will ouput ratings, it just means it will need more juice from the mains than a gold rated PSU. No big deal really.

i've made some changes to the build, some of which were to take advantage of offers that were on, some were to get better stuff for very little extra cash, and others were to get equivalent performing stuff for less:

not sure what your basket came to, but this should be considerably cheaper:
