I've managed to secure a job interview with a very large global company with an office in the city, and will be based there if successful.

I've never had a job interview for many years and am bricking it!

Just a couple of questions really:

1. have interviews and tactics changed over the last 10 years?
2. any advice on curbing the nerves?

Buy a gold bar, walk into the interview and set it on the table.

Await a response.

If its good, then you win, if its bad, take the gold bar and smack them with it til they say its good.

what kind of position will it be for? techniques differ greatly between interviewing for a sales/marketing guy and an accounting person for example.

also personality and how you will fit into the team is high on their list

Expect a few why do want to work here/why are you looking for a job questions. Along with maybe a "what are your weaknesses" question and answering with "I haven't got any, hehehehehe" or "I try too hard at times" won't be looked favourably upon, so prepare for this.

It's a decent IT role, won't go into too much detail in case one of the people interviewing me is on here, may sound paranoid but you never know ;-]
