September 1, 2006 - You all have waited, and now we have it. The official Wii Price and Release Date for the Nintendo Wii.

Wii Console: $219.95 US (included accessories yet to be revealed.)
Wii-mote w\ nunchuck: $29.95 US

The release date, in the United States, is slated for October 3rd. This release date is much earlier than most expected. More to follow.

That's a pretty damn good price, especially if it related to directly the GBP price, £120, but I guess it'll more likely be about £150.

Makes me want one quite a bit, especially as it's apparently only one month and a bit away.

wont be direct with the UK price, but still, under £200 is nice considering the cost of 360 and PS3 !

You would only be a fanboy if you chose not to buy the console purely because it was a Nintendo. There are other reasons for not getting one which don't involve being a fanboy - such as not liking the games on offer, or its controller - both of which at this time are unknown quantities until the console is released.

The euro date will be announced on the 15th september but until then no one is saying anything euro wise.

The U.S price above seems about right (trade not retail ) but the Wii-motes will be a little more (around wavebird prices in the UK)

People really are going to be expecting far too much from the price of this console. I really hope it is as cheap as its said to be, for Nintendos sake.
