You don't need much opposite lock generally....

Yup good point there with the fishtailing. I know someone who did that one and apparently nearly lost it. Though i wasnt there at the time, i have stuck on half a turn of opposite lock on before and havent had problems with fishtailing, maybe im taking it off early enough, though i definitly bare in mind what you said about the opposite lock. How much opposite lock are you talking about when you say a little bit? Always good to learn more stuff. :)

Yes, of course. It was worn shock absorbers/diesel on the road/banana skins and nothing to do with the the fact he went too fast into a bend in the wet and panic'd :)

Glad we've got that sorted. Now he can drive around without learning anything from the situation, safe in the knowledge he has a new crutch to lean on in the form of the 'it was the shocks!' excuse, rather than learn anything from the experience.

No, no no, you got the wrong brigade. The keyboard warrior brigade are OcUK's own band of wannabe vigilantes, ready to go out and beat people up with keyboards for looking at them the wrong way.

This thread features an altogether more fearless team - OcUK accident investigation, or 'OcUK see through the excuses for monging it up team' :p
Lol, you're right mate! I'll take the Warriors over the Investigators anyday! :)

It depends on a lot of factors, the car, how fast you're going, how much you're sliding etc etc. Unfortunately the only way to work out how much is to throw your car around a little which it's not particularly safe to do on the roads.

It's something that comes from experience ultimately, there's no hard and fast rule.

Dude you did a number on that didn't you

God only know how you managed it? Take it you hit one of the walls to roll you over?

I'm feel like a driving god as I'm still yet to stack my "VERY dangerous" 306 despite having it 2 years and driving it nice and hard :p

EDIT - err *touches wood* :o

Yeah i have, on purpose, got the rear out on a certain roundabout you have excellent vision on and i drive most days so i know the surface of the roundabout well. I suppose its better for me to get the rear out there then by accident mid corner somewhere.

Christ

Impressive, gets an 8/10.

Seriously though, gald you are OK and are willing to learn from your mistake.

Its enough if you learn something from the situation IMO, at least nobody was hurt.

I always consider safety first when I think about making progress, to some people this may seem like I hang about but I'd sooner allow a bit of margin for error.

I give it an 8/10 too, very impressive smack.
If you were going a little quick then i suppose you should take the opportunity to learn from it :P.

Glad you are ok and no one else was hurt. Surprised i haven't seen it so far in this thread but......................

Break out the T-cut it'll be ok in a jiffy :D

Sorry i'll get my coat.

Apparently the 306 handling is rubbish becuase it isnt stable past 130mph or something I think was Dolphs reason for that one :p
