Notch Snubs Microsoft, Refuses to Certify Minecraft for Windows 8

Why are you so keen for them to succeed? It's not like they have a fantastic track record in terms of software development, and a monopoly is not something to be encouraged.

It suits my needs is the main reason.they will succeed anyway its MS.
They offer a better platform than the competition for both developers and consumers (for the mass market), not that I just want ms to succeed, we need competition and I hope apple and android carry on.

Untill win8 is released apple suits my needs so I'm using them until that point.

Haven't got a sucesfull track record, I think windows and office shows that's not the case.

Which in your opinion is irrelevant as the store does not sale anything for the desktop.
As you think developers wont devlop for metro it's a mute point.
Also you're trying to say gamers don't know about steam.

Must be confusing me with someone else.

Anyway, it's not just about gamers who are familiar with Steam. There are a surprising amount who have never used Steam (tho they may have heard of it). My brother has never used Steam, and he plays a few games now and then. Then there are future gamers who will start buying games who have never bought games before.

MS Store will capture a lot of custom simply by being integrated into Windows. Assuming they don't price themselves out of competition, which I'm sure they are smart enough to avoid.

In my opinion it's a touch screen operating system with little to no thought put into mouse/keyboard interaction, especially while gaming. I think they will see the results of that in their sales and uptake especially in the gaming sector. In typical Microsoft style they will probably release a cracking operating system for Windows9.

Glaucus your faith in the operating system isn't really enough to convince me I'm afraid. You act like them being Microsoft guarantees them automatic success however by their own admission Vista was a failure.

Windows is pretty terrible, and i don't know about you but in terms of actual usability office hasn't been that good since 2003, and for the 'mass market' offers no advantage over the wide variety of FOSS alternatives.

1.) Windows 8 will launch, small amount of fan boys will flock.

2.) Most people will be like LOL and stick to 7.

3.) 8 will either lose M$ money or make insignificant profits

4.) Microsoft will learn and make 9 good, learn from the fail and reallow Steam etc.

So basically like every single new M$OS, good > **** > good > **** and so on.

weren't you like 8 in 2003?

Yes, but you must remember that the next version of Office was 2007, which people weren't very quick to adopt (and to be honest i'd prefer if they didn't). I know we used it in my house until i was old enough to buy a computer of my own, and 2003 was used by the IT department in school until quite recently actually.

Which seems like a stupid decision if you ask me because it takes forever to load and often just goes off the idea, thankfully i don't have to use the computer labs very often any more but you spend half the lesson waiting for it to load.

Shows how little you know.
There's loads wrong with this post.

Steam is not blocked. Steam runs absolutely fine on windows8, there's nothing to re allow.

It only goes good> bad > good > bad if you miss out releases on purpose.

Most people will get what ever is on the device at purchase, that will be windows 8.

Windows 8/store will be the most profitable OS they've ever released due to the store.

Im also in most apple threads, does that men. I. Love apple as well.
What's your point?
It's something I'm interested in, so I post. Especially when there's a hell of a lot of FUD about.

"Ecosystem" says Apple lover to me, isn't it a phrase that Apple coined to suck people in to buying an iPhone, iPad, iMac and Macbook?

However, the way I've seen you go on in Apple related threads betrays your claims of not loving Apple.

Still got knicjkers in a twist over Eco system
Eco system is a word that best describes it, end off. It shows no allegiance.

The way I go at it. Difference between talking about patents and loving the company.
Or saying the map app won't affect sales, which it hasn't. An when people state x-place is in the wrong place, point out its not.
