Right im Gobsmacked... First letter i open today morning, and it's from Greater Manchester Police.
Dear Sir/Madam
Vehicle Registration Number ####### Nissan
In accordance with section 1 of the Road Traffic Offenders Act 1988, i hearby give you notice that it is intended to take proceedings against the driver of the above motor vechicle ####### Recorded Speed 42 mph
For the alleged offence of - Excess Speed (30 MPH)
at - 22:19 on 21/10/2010
at (place) - A6 Wellington Road North, JCT Heaton Lane, Stockport
contrary to Section - S81(1)RTRA 84 Sch 2 RTOA 88
- What it does say on the letter that they have contacted DVLA, and DVLA can't give any recent information and so on. 

At the time of offence 22:19 i was at work. So no chance of me driving the car. I can get HR to write a staement/letter of confirmation.
I also have the DVLA Acknowledgement Letter to confirm that I am no longer the Registered Keeper.



Should i acknowledge the letter or what? First time ever i'v recieved a letter like this. so dont know proceedings/outcomes etc..
