Hi Guys

Been trying to install vista on my pc recently and its a no go at the moment unfortunately, it appears that ntfs.sys is crashing the system each time it starts, it even crashes each time I setup a user during the install so I get stuck in a loop of creating users each time.

Im going to run hitachi drive fitness tools tonight to try to solve the problem coz ntfs.sys in invariably linked to the hard drive, but does anyone else have any other ideas.

Help appreciated!

Are you overclocked at all? If you are try putting everything at stock and reinstalling.
You could also run a memcheck on the ram as that could cause this problem

I was overclocked and I unclocked it a while back, the rams pretty much brand new and don't think its a problem. This all coincided with me trying to install a copy of Photoshop CS3 which wouldn't install properly and then I had to use WINCS3 clean which when it seemed to slow down my system after it ran prompted me to stick vista on.
