Guys, have any of you ever used this or a similar setup with a USB controller and a Numark DJ IO?

Do you know if you can push the sound through PC speakers rather than to an amp?

no experience but i would guess that you just need a suitable cable

such as a phono or dual phono to female 3.5 cable ? pc speakers are just an amp and speakers combined

Have a look at the Numark Mixtrack Pro, it has a soundcard built in and apparently is a really good beginner kit.

I'm currently waiting until I can afford my DDJ, hopefully I'll have enough for the Reloop Digital jockey 2 interface.

only grip i Have with the mixtrack is it doesn't come with Trakktor LE, which is why I'm going for the Reloop.

I used this at a party a few weeks ago, pretty nifty, get what you pay for kind of thing. Found that the Eqs were abit flimsy and the volume controllers quite loose. If you don't already have it look at the BCD3000, i find that far better. As for your question, you just need the correct cable for it, you can get one where a jack fits into one end then red & whites come off at the other end to make it viable to be plugged into such controllers.

This is it:

Thanks guys.

I can't remember exactly what the outputs of the Numark DJ IO are so i'll have to check, but it looks like they are intended to be plugged into amps/PAs.

Not sure if it had the red/white cable out to speakers or like a large jack? (I'm sure there's proper names for all these connections I do apologise).

No space for an AMP and seperate speakers so basically just want to use something like a Mixtrack or the Total Control with the DJ IO, my PC for MP3 and my PC speakers for sound. Want to make sure it will work through before ordering anything!

I have looked at the Mixtrack as well it does look a bit better.
Kinda tempted to go for the cheaper option for now and see if I stick at it.

Ok so the Mixtrack or Total Control is plugged into my PC via the DJIO and USB, headphones connect to the DJIO.

Then to use my PC speakers could I output from the DJIO to my PC and through my speakers that way, or will I need to go straight for the DJIO to my PC speakers?

The djio is a soundcard so you don't need to route it back to your soundcard

If your on a pc with a decent soundcard you might not even want to bother with the djio thing. you can plug the controller in by USB and then use a 5.1 soundcard to send front 5.1 signal to headphones for cueing and rear 5.1 to speakers. This can be done in the settings of the Dj software

The djio thing is more for laptops with only one output or with poor soundcards

Yeah I suppose, i've got a 8 channel onboard soundcard, but doing that though would mean using PC headphones rather than proper ones wouldn't it?
