I have this card and its clocked to 470 /1.27ghz with the system in my sig and I got a 3d mark 05 score of 7461 I want to know if thats about correct and would it be higher with a dual core cpu..

Your CPU is letting you down a lot allthough you should get higher than that! I get 8k at 3.75ghz but with my AMD i get 8.5k with my 7800GT. Benchmarks dont really matter though. So long as it plays your games fine id leave it...
 
It depends on what version of 05 you are using and at what graphical settings you bench at. Over 10K isnt hard with that card, and why arnt you clocking it, mine is 100% stable (not an artifact in sight)in 3Dm05 and FEAR ( will show artifacts better than any other game) at 520/1.38 on water.
