Most certainly, early adopters of G80 series are gonna be miffed when the second release or update to this generation of cards are faster whilst using less power at the same or lower price point. Something else to bear in mind; ATI are not going to release a DX10 card after G80 unless it kicks Nvidia a$$.
imho playing the waiting game is always the way to benefit most from the introduction of new technology.
The more I see of G80 benchmarks and reviews the more I don't want one.
Confusion said:not spectacular? what are you on?!
this is probably the biggest performance jump since the 9700Pro
a second from top new gen card murders existing top line cards. Thats pretty damn impressive to me!
Burumbar said:I generally don't agree with this train of thought. You could say the same thing at most times during the year and end up getting nothing. I'm an early adopter and won't be worried what Nvidia or ATI do in 6 months as I'll be using a 8800gtx for those 6 months. I'm gaming at 1920x1200 though so I consider it needed more than just an upgrade to impress friends.

kitten said:ROFL you are joking I hope. Nvidia need competition at this level elsewise the cards will remain at a ridiculous price point, and Nvidia will not get the kick in the pants that's required for them to improve their often inferior, second rate, B quality product![]()
