Nvidia claim 1 Teraflop for the G92

Just as AMD ready Barcelona, Intel ruin the party by announcing Nehalem.

Just as AMD ready the R600 refreshes, Nvidia ruin the party by announcing G92.

It's really not AMD's year is it, what next?

Drivers. It's very tricky to get 100% of what the card is capeable of :)

I guess if it were in a console however it would utilise more of this capability as it can be more optimised.

You could say the same thing in reverse when AMD kicked Intel's arse with Athlon 64 and ATI duffed up NVidia with the 9700Pro. It all goes in cycles and AMD/ATI will be back, not quite yet though I don't think :)

Yes you could, and I never said otherwise. What I said was it hasn't been AMD's year, and it hasn't.

No need to get defensive because AMD are performing abysmally as of late, I miss them too. :)

Not getting defensive at all, I have no loyalties and buy whatever is the best at the time (currently on AMD/NVidia but have had all permutations). Was just saying they'll be back and it's not the end of AMD/ATI as some doom-mongers would have us believe, not that you were implying that :)

Very true. Always buy what is best out, from either manufacturer, and you can't lose really. Not sure why some people stick to just one manufacturer.

Oh no, I am not saying that AMD are doomed. Not by a long shot. I'm just commenting on how dire they are performing as of late, they have Intel and Nvidia laughing all the way to the bank.

I'm also not saying that's a good thing, just for the record, because you can see from 8800 drivers and prices that lack of competition is a very bad thing. :(

Same, which is why after being a very long-term customer of ATI and AMD, I suddenly have a rig stacked with Intel and Nvidia stuff.
