Nvidia drops prices of GeForce GTX 980, GTX 980 Ti. But not for Europe

We have seen €uro-prices of 695€ (Roughly £505) for the reference card already today, so the msrp is, as the name suggests, just a suggestion; retailers are free to sell it for less. :)

i did see these much cheaper yesterday from other places but can't link or hint for breaking forum rules but that price of £522 was pretty close in fairness.

I seen em cheaper also, especially since 575 is the out of stock price. When these are in stock, then they go for 590. If the reference cooler on these cards wasn't such a No No, I might well have went for one the ones I seen for 550 (they are out of stock now also). EVGA Hybrid lined up from €uro supplier, equivalent to 600 GBP, delivered.

I don't get the outrage. We knew about the 649USD price before the card even launched, and it's also the exact figure we used to correctly predict the ~£549 UK launch price.

With exchange rates the way they are, this is way out of the league of euro area buyers. I can't find one for less than €740. For comparison I paid €620 for a gtx780 two years ago, and that launched at the exact same $ rrp. Something to do with the Greeks, I'm told.

Wasn't a certain popular etail site (whose name means "to engage in enjoyable activities") able to ship DVDs from Jersey tax-free? Vaguely recall something along those lines.

I'm sure I read on these forums something along the lines of.... Our gfx cards are more expensive because the US $ to £ is low.... SO, if reductions happen in the US you should see those reductions in parallel at OcUK...

If someone has time they could correlate the fluctuations of the US $ against the prices here and question why said prices haven't been reduced or raised..

They sell based on what they paid for it, not current exchange rate.

If the rate is good Gibbo will try and order a big batch then.
