**Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Thread**

Hi all, I have a pretty modest PC I bought in 2013...
Asus B85M-G
i5 4670
16GB DDR3 Ram

Ive been running a GTX 770 2GB ever since.

I have been thinking of upgrading the system to get a new GPU but heard that with 4k gaming (im not in if for FPS, i hook it up to an OLED HDR TV) the GPU is far more important than the CPU. I have ordered a 1080ti and im sure I wont be getting the full benefit of it with my current setup. My board can support a I7 4770 CPU, would that be a worthy upgrade? i dont fancy completely upgrading everything.

An i7 will be a decent upgrade from the i5 due to the hyperthreading assistance you'll have. If you sell the i5 chip on, then the upgrade will only be between £50-100 cost to you.

I saw that there was 1 Asus Founders edition "in stock" earlier today. I jumped at the opportunity and chose next day delivery (free). Ordered at 13:15 (Tuesday)

Order number 3244347

It's been stuck on (Edit) - "Order is in process" all day, I've not received a dispatch email but I have been charged.

Has it been shipped? I was expecting a tracking number of some sort.

Cheers

Just think of all that free money from interest they are getting off of you, and others....

My 980Ti gets very hot, up to 70c even with the MSI gaming cooler, worse since i moved to 1440p and 165hz, strains the card a lot and it can start to get a bit noisy even with that good air cooler.

Can't wait to see how much quieter & cooler a 1080Ti will be even with the Eiswolf on it, since GPU's seem to benefit a lot from water i guess it will make a large difference.. Probably 20- c difference.

I've the same card as you clocked to 1450 and it hits 60's in gaming. Card is fine. I'd check the airflow in your case.

At this rate you'll be pre ordering the 1180 in August 2017 with delivery some time in Jan 2018.

It's just like Christmas getting earlier and earlier every year, with new Nvida graphics cards they hype things up earlier and earlier each generation and thus you wait longer and longer until it arrives.

STRIX OC, Some electrical noise depending on FPS or load, not to intrusive or load but you can "feel it" if you pay attention, without G-sync WITH G-Sync enabled this keeps the FPS STABLE enough for some games or older games having crazy FPS LIKE 400FPS ....SOME extra electrical noise is generated
2065 max clock

11900 memory

stable , 67c open case

Do you not think that a 1080Ti is wasted on such a small screen like the 1080 size you have in your Heaven benchmark? Is that the res you play in? 1080p?
