**NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 680 4GB ARRIVING NEXT WEEK - PRE-ORDER NOW!!**

We really need to see some test results for these 4GB and factory oc versions to see if they are indeed any faster when clocked than std models.

It may be the extra 2GB makes no difference even at high res / multiple screens due to bus limitations.

It may also be that the extra power circuitry has little impact on o/c potential, or maybe not.

Anyone seen any reviews yet?

Didn't Hardocp do a 2nd review showing that the GTX 680 was still faster with only 2gb of ram than in Tri-1080p setup than a 7970 with 3gb? You would need the Vram if you added vision into the mix (if you can have multi monitor and 3d that is)

You know its getting silly when you can build a complete system for the same price as a single component. High-end shenanigans.

4GB of ram.... stupid stuff. Great for your epeen but not much more. Even a 4k display will easily fit in to 2GB of RAM per card. Programmers will stay in the 2GB budget for vram for a while to come because the average is still only 1GB.

Still if you want it and you have the money no one can stop you.

You might want to get an SSD or a new ivy bridge CPU and board instead.

I wanna see how these custom PCB boards with increased power manage to overclock, once people see that then I think they'll be a bit more tempted if they really do hit 1300mhz or even above clocks like people are hoping for, that would be very tempting for a lot of people without a doubt :)

Don't be so naive. If you want the eyecandy, 2gb isn't enough for 5760x1080. 2GB can be ok for 1600p, but anything above you need more VRAM. If you're happy to turn down the graphics, then you're not doing the HW justice.

What if you already have all that?

No/Prove it
+1!

I'm using well over 2gb on a few of my games at 2560x1600 single monitor. The 680 would have been a terrible buy for me.

Yeah it's really funny all these people saying you don't need more then 1.5GB or 2GB when they only run 1080p themselves :')

7970 bargain? Wouldn't a 7950 be more of a bargain then the 7970?

More 4GB's on the way too us :D
