** NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 900 SERIES PRICE DROP!! **

hey just letting everyone know I paid £450 for a used 980 ti 2 days ago & im 110% sure I can get my money back on it when I come to sell it when my 1080 order comes through, the current 1070 I have now is epic but I need the extra horsepower @ 3440x1440.

this 980ti card ill use while I wait for the 1080& a sell the 1070 to a friend.

the people selling 980tis for cheap don't have a clue of its real value, ive had many many cards and the 980ti was the first true card I was like WOW this card is powerful, its my favorite card to date and think its one of the best gaming cards made to date, sadly new tech comes along and people lose their mind but doesn't change the fact that maxwell is the true overclockers dream and is an absolute beast when overclocked.

:)

As we are specifically talking about the members market you are not likely to sell a 980Ti on the members market for £450.

Doesnt sound like people dont have a clue about real value sounds like you are ripping people off/they are chumps. :)

LOL... is all I have to say.. keep trying harder. If you want a 980ti now is the time to grab a new one, end of July they will be back up to the price before, Nvidia is giving retailers £100 for every card they sell at the moment. So the real price is still £500 for a basic 980Ti and the retailers make zero loss as Nvidia is funding this for now trying to help them clear stocks. After July they are back to what they were originally and some models will go up from the original price as they know people will want to grab a 2nd for SLI and a lot of people don't buy 2nd hand graphics cards. I have never purchased a 2nd hand computer part that is not proven to be brand new and never used and from a very trusted person.

Reasons being many overclock the hell out of parts not knowing what they are doing and in most cases caused some damage and trying to flog a damaged part that has intermittent faults due to their silly overclocks. Have you seen all them cards with the drivers resetting or doing the odd funky thing ? Guess what most of them are damaged by user error with overclocking, most honest users will tell you that started once they messed about with overclocking and using unlocked VBIOS they loaded on the cards. I have never had a card ever do that unless I caused some issue with the software or Windows and it is not a hardware fault then.

Also I have been on the look out for a 2nd EVGA 980Ti CLASSIFIED to SLI and not one has sold (real sale from UK, NOT the USA sales as they will get taxed as they come into UK so still costing over £450) for under £450 on Ebay.

Lets try this and see on the MM, I'm about to stick a wanted thread for a EVGA 980Ti CLASSIFIED and lets see how many jump up to sell and what they ask for it. Anyone here wanting to sell one here is the link :-

You say lol is all you have to say and then proceed to say rather a lot. :p

You refer to new, I'm talking used.

I won't pay more than £200 - £230tops for a second hand 980ti for the very reasons you list for never buying used, it's just the way it is, tech especially high end costs a lot new but then drops significantly used.

The retail price of the 980ti is still too high imo especially with things like the 480 on the horizon, I can wait (still happily running 580SLI, which cost me a fraction of their retail price) I've not bought a new GPU since ,I think, the 6800GT(!)

I'm going to see what the 480 offers and if it's ballpark 980ti performance for similar money then the 980 won't even get a look in unless it's really dropped in used value, why buy used when you can get new with warranty and driver optimisation for the newer gen card....

you're never going to get £450 for a 980 Ti now, I managed to get £500 and that was 8 weeks ago AND it was a classy 980 Ti so up there with the best and it clocked quite well too, 1525mhz 24/7 stable with a +600 on the memory, I'd just pick up a FE 1070 for cheaper that offers the same performance, more Vram, features etc and will only improve when drivers mature, at most you'll get around the £300 mark

Exactly, most 980ti cards will be around the £300 mark, to pay more would be silly.

KPE but thanks for your concern.

Even still the KPE is only beneficial to a very small minority of people as it is designed for LN2 for best results otherwise you're going to get the same results as 99% of 980 Ti's out there, no doubt you have a fantastic card but the audience that card is designed for has probably already paid top dollar for it when it was released and like I said to most of us here we wouldn't benefit from it so therefor, the 1070 would still be a better bet.
Still though good card and I do hope you manage to sell it for a good price! :)

You honestly think a $200 480 is going to match or even be near a 980ti ?

Wow ok.... you do realize a 980Ti was $650 when it came out for a reference model ? You will be very disappointed when the 480 comes out and is only 970 performance ... Good luck...:D

yeh it is funny everyone thinks this 199$ rx 480 card from AMD is going to drop the prices of gtx 980ti? and I wonder why? the RX 480 is not in the same league at all.

it's like saying the new ford focus st ford is releasing is going to make the Porsche 911 turbo drop in price.. lol

:D

Everyone thinks? Point out some of these people that have said that. Scania above says if the performance of the RX480 is close to the 980ti he will get that instead of waiting until the 980ti drops to the price he is willing to pay.

The 1070 is what has caused the price drop. Who would pay more than £350 for a used 980ti when you can get a new 1070 for a few quid more.

And car analogies are terrible.

Hi there

We I shall keep this simple, NVIDIA are rebating our inventory until end of July buy rather large chunks particular on 980Ti and 980, 970 has had a little drop but as it is still selling like crazy not much of a move has happened here. OcUK has also done its own price drop on 960 with no support from NVIDIA.

This pricing should now be the lowest in the UK on each GPU:

GTX 980Ti from £399.95 Inc. VAT - CLICK HERE!

GTX 980 from £319.99 Inc. VAT - CLICK HERE!

GTX 970 from £217.99 Inc. VAT - CLICK HERE!

GTX 960 from £145.99 Inc. VAT - CLICK HERE!

This pricing absolutely dominates the market and stock will sell out very quick and with stock being low, if your considering an SLI upgrade, now is the time to act. :)

So does that mean Nvidia will stop supplying stock for the 900 series at the end of July?

Someone looking to sli an existing 980ti that would leave a 1070 and a 1080 way behind maybe

No, I said IF it was in the ballpark then I'd choose it over a second hand 980ti unless it's really cheap as the 480 will have warranty and better driver optimisation.

I sincerely hope it does get close, the GPU market needs a shake up and competitive alternatives from AMD to bring Nvidia down a peg or two, their current pricing is taking us for mugs.

I'm not interested in what the 980ti cost at launch, it's not relevant.

Your's truly for instance. Is all a matter of perspective (and disposable income).

I just picked up a GB 980Ti Xtreme for £350 with 32 months warranty left which should suffice to play the games I play @ 1440p without the graphics butchery I have to perform at the moment with my 780Ti and those extra 'few quid' that amount to £75 I reckon to get a 1070 with similar aftermarket cooler and no squealing whiny coils are in my pocket.

In fact the difference is in my pocket and the card will be in my rig tomorrow... If the 1070 goes anything like the 1080 it will be mid July the earliest before the hard earned cash one parts with manifests a physical tangible object.
