if 1080 is gimped then we are living good times indeed![]()
would you guys say then a gtx 980ti EVGA SC w/ backplate (6months old) @ 300 is a fair offer? this is taking into account the "leaks" for the r9 480?
Jeez....the 980Ti prices just can't sit still. Going back up by the hour.

I'm really not sure what to do. I don't want to pay anymore than £375 for a new card (I'm currently using on-board), which basically means I'm torn between a 980/980Ti/1070. What do you guys recommend out of the following given what my spec is?
i5 6600K @ Stock
MSI Z170A Gaming Pro Carbon
16GB DDR4-3000
850 Evo 250GB SSD
SuperNOVA G2 650W PSU
BenQ XL2411Z
- 1 x KFA2 GeForce GTX 1070 EX OC 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card= £374.99
- 1 x Zotac GeForce GTX 980Ti AMP Edition 6144MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card (ZT-90503-10P)= £379.99
- 1 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 WindForce 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card= £299.99
Will any cheaper 1070 cards be hitting the market soon?
The 1070, no question. Personally, I'd pay the extra fiver and go for either the Gainward Phoenix or Palit Jetstream model though. Not that the KFA2 is likely to be bad, but the Phoenix and the Jetstream both use the same awesome cooler (since they're just two different brands from the same company), just with a different shroud. I had their 980 Ti that also used the same cooler and it's the quietest card I've ever owned.I'm really not sure what to do. Most cards are somehow gimped. Mostly due to cost effectiveness though!
I just bought a 980Ti FTW to arrive tomorrow.
Gonna step-up to a 1070/1080 in 90 days. If the price drops by then, great, if not, nothing lost!
