Expect once all stock is gone they will stabilise a bit. Though they may take a further dive depending on how good the RX480 is.

Weird just a few posts up it was about performance.
Performance difference will be negligible, I would take the extra vram and newer tech over a good clocking, power hungry ti.
I wouldn't touch a 980ti or Titan now. Not at the prices atm. I'm happy now to bide my time and wait till Oct/Nov and see what's what. My outlook probably differs from many as my older cards I past down the line to myself so I don't see a loss (although there is). As an investment these gpu's are not such and it tickles me pink that some get nasty or hateful at the possibility of a heavy financial loss. That's life.

would you guys say then a gtx 980ti EVGA SC w/ backplate (6months old) @ 300 is a fair offer? this is taking into account the "leaks" for the r9 480?
Nvidia are paying for the cuts, but as said it shows the markup Nvidia charge. 1080 must be huge margins of profit for Nvidia.

Pretty much. Shops discount the price heftily and Nvidia make up the difference. Something like that.
Performance is essentially the same at stock. Those 980ti's will overclock better than the cheaper 1070's.
