** NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 900 SERIES PRICE DROP!! **

Performance is essentially the same at stock. Those 980ti's will overclock better than the cheaper 1070's.

That matters not..

More vram
1070 clocked to 2ghz beats a 980ti clocked
Less power
Double the performance in VR
Better DX12 performance

I can't resist...

Meh, dont really see a point in the 970 and 980 at those prices when the 480 will be cheaper than both of those and faster, and have full 8gb vram (and significantly faster in dx12 I expect).

Regular 980 is way too close to the 1070 which is like what, 30-40% faster? and even that is considered bad value.

They will have come down because the 480 is faster though so that is a good sign. Its the best Nvidia can do without a new card.

Until the 480 hits and people can buy. Prices are what nvidia say they are.

Agree 319 for a 980 ? 50 quid more gets you double the vram and nearly half as fast again in performance

Considering that 1080 beats 980 in sli a 980 for 319 makes no sense IMO.

I thought the $199 was the cheapest nastiest AMD cooler with 4gb VRAM. 8gb VRAM with a decent cooler $299+?

As fast as a 980 I'd expect.

Those prices are not bad but still over £400 for a decent model Ti. Some cards still over £500.

A maxed 980Ti still beats a max 1070. Second hand prices still won't be too bad due to the demand for SLI at the minute.

Hardcop showed a 1070 running at 2062 giving about 10%. Not massive gains for the clocks. Nothing that you have stated is any reason for the sort of prices people want to pay for very good non ref 980ti's.

Stuff is only worth what people are prepared to pay...

It's a buyers market...

If they don't get the cards for what they are willing to outlay they will just buy new...

It's as simple as that really...

Who in their right mind would buy a used 980ti for 340 when 25 quid more gets you a brand new 1070 with 8gb ram....

Sellers have to be realistic.

I don't disagree with anything you say here. My original point, which got lost, is that since the 1080's were about to hit, there have been some people on the forums who seem to have been trying to engineer what price they wanted to pay rather than a fair price.

It was going on in the Titan X thread, the 980ti thread, the MM and now the 1070 threads. I even saw it in the price check thread. It all seems a bit off considering we are all here for the same thing.

Some of the offers for the 980ti's in the MM are riseable when 25 quid more as you put it gets you a bottom of the rung 1070 that offer little performance increase with overclocking.

True but top cards are still £420+. The cheapest being the plastic blowers.

Therefore Ti prices should reflect that with the top models being sold for more.

I wouldn't buy the cheapest for £360. I'd rather have a 1500mhz Ti that will still beat any 1070 for £360.
