390x vs 980ti..
June will be an exciting month for PC gamers.
Hopefully either of these cards can handle games at 4k well. Not interested in SLI/Crossfire to be honest
It's best not to take Mal's posts too seriously.
In one thread he can't wait for the 390x because it will beat the Titan X, in another thread AMD suck because the card isn't out yet and he can't see it beating the Titan X.
His posts give me a headache, he's like this over TVs aswell, what it comes down to is whatever he decides to go for (at that moment in time) is the best.....
Some people are such hard work!
I just tend to skip over his posts now, he reminds me of a guy in my office who doesn't know what he's talking about but just repeats what he's read from somewhere else without understanding it and then speaks of rumours as if they were facts, it's just not worth the effort replying anymore.
The 980ti is the card I'm waiting for, I've managed to hold off from the Titan X but I may still end up getting it if the 980ti disappoints and I really don't fancy going back to AMD unless their 390X ends up being legendary.
See my post above.
Lead times kill any "smart" ideas that keyboard experts come up with.
It's like trying to move a mountain designing, making & shipping a GPU worldwide.
Be interesting to see how this performs compared to 970 SLI considering you can get 2 970s for ~£600 and this card will be around that price point.
970 SLI won't be a threat to this card. In fact, 970s shouldn't even be run in SLI.
They seem to do alright here http://hexus.net/tech/reviews/graphics/82060-evga-gtx-970-ssc-sli-vs-titan-x-r9-295x2/?page=4
They provide decent grunt, but it's a bit of a paradox because if you need that much grunt then you're going to have vram issues with them.
Not according to just about any review where they have tested this.
Very true from one owning 970 SLI once.
I would say 970 SLI is a good 1440p combination.
I've been out of the GPU scene for a while, I've got a 7950 that I picked up 18 months ago to keep me going when I changed my monitor to 2560x1600, with a view to getting a second 6 months later. I never got round to that and now I know that The Witcher 3 is going to kill my system (O/C i7 2700k, 16Gb RAM). What are my choices?
