I am out the loop of graphics cards so not sure whats happening with current events and I am wondering what everyones looking forward to in the next few weeks?

I am looking for a upgrade to my current Sapphire R9 280X Toxic, and was advised by a few of you in another thread I made that I should wait about a month before getting anything now (I was interested in the MSI GTX 970).

Which graphics card should be the go to card in about a months time? I will probably look to spend about £500 (£600 pushing it) and in all honesty I am leaning back to Nvidia so unless AMD wow me with something incredible or I am persuaded to stick with ATI I really feel I need to go back to Nvidia.

Your thoughts please cheers :)

Can only sound like a broken record and say wait for both the 980 ti and the r9 3xx series to release and then make your mind up.

If you want *great* driver support then def go with AMD..... *sniggers*

:D

im looking forward to seeing the 980ti
similar performance, less money
and we get to see all the partner coolers
should be good :)

2816 cores? eww, Nvidia been choppy choppy :(

thats only about 5% performance when it comes down to it tho?
if comparing AIB to reference tx i think the ti AIB is going to win
less heat, possibly higher clocks
aslong as not comparing it to a watercooled tx then should look good ^^;
thats my guess anyway :)

I don't know if this has been covered, but dose being a chopped down version of the titan-x mean this is going to have some kind of gimped memory like the 970 does compared to the 980?

If the price is right on these I will be getting one, as long as it doesn't turn out to be 5.5GB or something daft later...

It'll be fine. It's not the same as the GTX970.

The GTX970 had partially disabled a ROP/memory controller partition. GTX980Ti is a standard Shader cut.
It's also a completely different GPU to the GTX970.

the scandal might be that its too good!
that would annoy some titan-x owners
maybe not the ones on here you seem mostly hardcore lol

If the price is good (£550 or under) and the reference coolers are available at launch, I can see me pre-ordering this/ordering as soon as they can be bought. First time I will have ever done that. Payday tomorrow too, wonder if that's a coincidence :p

Should be quite an upgrade from SLI 580's (only been running these for a short while, was a single 580 before that).

I reckon 1st June release date as that's when the Witcher 3 promo ends, launching tomorrow/Friday. Fingers crossed!!!

Ditto, only I'm going on holiday on the 5th so will probably be the first thing I do when I get back in a couple of weeks. Looking at the leaked specs and seeing it's a bit nerfed compared to the TX £550 seems like a fair price

Patience is a virtue. And you'll only have yourself to blame if it has a slight price drop when the 390X launches (or AMD have a better option). I feel like a broken record... but it's best to wait until all of the cards are on the table. Almost literally in this case too, haha!

True, but personally I can't see Nvidia dropping prices a week or 2 after launch - they probably already know the performance and price of the 390x (or at least have a good idea). Hopefully the 2 cards launch within a few days of each other.

I have a feeling the launch price will be £600 for thr 980ti though :(
