I went from 980 SLI to Titan X. tbh games run better on single gpu so I went with the best. This should hold me until pascal or longer. SLI is just a pain in the ass

Is it still? The last time I used SLI was with the 7950GX2. Crossfire has been nothing but hell each time I tried it.

Thing is it seems you need a Titan X with a 390+Mhz OC to get a constant 60fps in the Witcher 3 at 1440P Ultra without Hairworks.
That's still not great.

So much choice for my new gaming build!

980ti
970 sli
390x
390
Fury
290x sli

Looking to spend around £500 for a decent 4k experience, I would prefer a single card solution though so I really hope this 980ti isn't hugely expensive..

Who say's it'll be a £200 difference? The leaked prices from EVGA's domain lists the Reference 980Ti at $798.
That means around £700, not including pre-order prices, and possible gouging.

There's no point in the card even existing if it's going to be near the TX price. It exists to get people who can't stretch to a TX to spend more than a 980. Stranger things have happened mind.

Currently got a sing r9 290x under water, and running a 750w powers supply.
I have about 450 + parts sales to upgrade my graphics solution.

Options looking like
2nd 290x + waterblock+power supply
GTX 970 sli
GTX 980ti
New AMD Fiji card
If I got a second 290x I'd need a new power supply and obviously couldn't sell the one I have but 970sli or any singly card wouldn't need to be under water or require a new PSU.
I have a mg279q on order to but I think the generally better nvidia drivers and frame rate locking options make up for the limited vrr window anyway.
What do you guys think ?

Yes, I have £500 burning a hole in my pocket, running a very old card and need to upgrade.

See what next week brings, if the ti. is £600 plus and the 980 remains at the same price
minus the two games. I wont be buying.

Don't find the processes of buying as fun as I once did and I don't come with a sign on my back that says I am gamer milk me.

I suspect this may be the last expensive card I buy, or I may have already bought my last high end card and may just spend the money elsewhere, pick up a cheaper card.
