*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

ASUS have said they are only sending out via air freight at the moment due to timescales, so volumes will be lower but they get the PR of delivering something.

I can't imagine they send them by sea unless they are shipped alongside other electronics. Flatscreen TVs are bulky and easily fill space as do many other electronic items, GPUs don't and there's probably only a pallet or two for most shipments anyway.

I try and keep up to date with this post but I have not seen a post about it yet, sooo is there been any clarity with regards to figure for small, ok and big amounts ref deliveries??

I don't think there's been any official clarification, but based on what Gibbo said in the past I think small ~10, ok ~50 and large ~100.

As a slight aside. Where are the limitations in production coming from? Nvidia? People are clearly frothing at the mouth for these cards, yet no one can supply demand.

Apart from msi. They can do one.

Nvidia claim there's no issue with supply, just demand, but since there's clearly very limited stock worldwide I'd suspect it has to do with yield issues at Samsung. https://www.smartkarma.com/home/dai...d-issue-trigger-for-americanizing-and-more-4/

There were many reports, admittedly mainly from last year, that Samsung were having yield issues with their 7nm process.

My response from ASUS about non OC Strix cards was as follows-
Thank you for contacting ASUS Support.

My name is Arsen and I can appreciate your frustration whilst anticipating your graphic card to be shipped out.

I can only imagine how excited you must be given you are actually able to purchase one of those. Stock is actually depleted everywhere and lots of customers are actually asking where to buy it from and they are not even on the waiting list.

I am sure you are in contact with Overclockers and they will duly update you as soon your item is on its way. Unfortunately, we do not have information regarding stock availability with us in the call center. The retailer will be able to advise you accordingly as soon as an ETA is available.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.
So it was useless, brilliant

See below for my similar response, have already fired off an email to the highlighted email address:

same here. Some competitors confirmed a shipment coming between today and tomorrow. Fingers crossed..

The competitor with the order table isn't getting many per shipment either though. It seems they received 32 MSI 3080s (across two types) and 42 EVGA's (across 5 types) - and a few of those numbers are probably actually cancellations too.

Still, at least they're giving out info which is better than what we're getting from OcUK.

From what I gather the MSI's will have been one or the other (ventus or trios)... They don't tend to get both in a delivery I think. This week I think most likely to be trios.

In other words they are scalping their own product and shifting blame.

They are small and heavy which makes them expensive to ship by air (around 12x the sea freight cost) and they need to deliver them to Europe in huge volumes so if the lines can get up to speed they will certainly be arriving in container loads.

I worry that the real problem is a lack of enough chips from Nvidia to allow the lines to run at full speed and therefore the production volumes are stuck at air freight levels...

I hope it isn't so...

Bois its Palit delivery day at OcUK tomorrow. May all you Palit bois have good luck tomorrow/ possibly thursday depending on when they get the delivery in and if they are able to dispatch them tomorrow.

Not what I was suggesting here. Rather, I was trying to work out if the non-OC STRIX 3080's have indeed not been in production at all (as suggested by the ASUS FB post) and therefore when they were expecting to go into production.

You have to make the cards first to scalp them!
