*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I see the post on reddit which someone posted a link to a couple of days ago about a Norwegian shops RTX status has been removed quoting moderators of R/Nvidia

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/com...they/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

There is also interestingly a post from someone who works in the electronics manufacturing industry mentioning the PCB shortage and its effects on GPU cards.

Although someone else has also posted that PCB manufacturers are showing no delays and you could put and order in and get delivery without delays.

Could all be spin from Nvidia to cover their own supply issues.

Yeh I bought all the parts for a much needed upgrade, will probably just resort to using my poor old 1060 until things get better
You could do what I'm thinking of doing. A second hand 1080ti. Would give you a nice boost for your new components and you wouldn't really lose much money on selling it.
The current batch of 3080's are going to be rushed out and it makes sense to see how they fair of the medium term....The hype has completely gone for me now.
I can't see this situation resolving itself this side of Xmas to be honest. If it was, we would be hearing more info by now. The longer you wait, the more the realisation hits.

Gigabyte cards from;
Other retailers: wk1 Arrived and shipped, wk2 arrived and shipped, wk3 arrived and shipped, wk4 Expected this week
Overclockers: ....*tumbleweed*

Why do Gigabyte hate Gibbo so much?

There will be a clearer picture as to how things are going to pan out in the short therm at the beginning of November I think. They've said cards will ramp in production at the end of this month and through November. Only then will we see what that equates to in terms of stock deliveries.

You seriously think this isn't going to be pretty much over before mid November when big navi comes to physical launch? Nvidia also aren't going to want to canabalise sales of 3080/90 with 3070 sales either, and how many buyers might just order a 3070 if their queue position hasn't move enough.

On to the next point though, although OCUK will not allow more than one GPU to be ordered at the moment, what is the position on ordering a 3080 AND a 3070 ?

@GIGA-Man point raised here, why are other retailers in the UK seemingly shipping Eagle cards or other gigabyte stock when OCUK is seemingly not, please allocate some stock to these guys so we can get the queue going in the right direction.

I can’t really afford to buy anything else I literally splashed out for this build, all the hype, all the excitement gone. Might send it all back and become a farmer

I wonder just how much this has affected the production of Nvidia GPUs:

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/science...ant-officially-reveals-smartphone-lineup.html

Apple is opening pre-orders for the iPhone 12 on October 16, which comes with a price tag of $799 and will be available October 23.

The annual launch event is nearly one month later than normal and comes as the coronavirus pandemic has disrupted Apple's well-oiled machine for designing and churning out its biggest-selling product

220 million iphones a year are sold and this time it's the launch of an entire family of them plus ancilliaries. It's got to have a knock on effect on Chinese production as they ramp up production prior to launch.

To be honest, I seriously don't know!
My initial thought was that it would be in there interest to have this sorted by early to mid November, but Gibbo hasn't exactly been reassuring on that being the case for the preorders.
You would think by now that OCUK, AIB's and Nvidia would be reassuring us all right now...Especially when I ordered on launch day and I'm 700+ in the queue. That is the problem I have right now.
I'm not putting out idle threats of switching to AMD or slagging off OCUK. I want to stay with Nvidia and I totally understand the position of OCUK and the staff. I'm just saying what makes sense all round when the hype has died.
I will buy a 3080 and I have no problem buying from OCUK again....Just how I'm seeing thing right now.
As for the 3070 + 3080 order, that's a very good question, although I'm not messing about in another pre-order queue. If stock is there, I'll take it!

Not how the distribution chain works at all, Gigabyte aren't sending cards directly to OC, they will be allocated via a distributor
