NVIDIA GTX 970 OWNERS THREAD

Yeah, if you need help overclocking just ask in here and people will give you advice :)

The voltage is on a slider as well and only increases by +87mv which is not enough to damage your card unless it's already defective. It's when you start playing with custom bios and higher voltages you're more likely to brick it.

Most of them with the higher stock boost clocks allow +87mv, the two Pelinox has linked, the MSI, and I imagine a couple of the others do as well.

Someone has found voltage tables up to 1.312v which is promising if an unlocked bios appears. I'd imagine you'll see 1800mhz+ clocks at that voltage under water.

Don't look at the boost value on the 1st tab of GPU-Z as that's wrong, I'd put the power limit at 110% and leave the voltage stock for now. Run a full screen game and check the 2nd tab on GPU-Z (Sensors) and see what it boosts too. That way you can tell how much you need to add on the slider in afterburner.

Thanks. Is +235 about right? I don't quite understand the memory clock though. How do I find the correct reading for that? People are saying they have theirs at 8000 MHz but GPU-Z is reporting 1753 MHz at stock. Do I have to multiply that by something to get the correct value?

+235 will be making it boost close to 1600mhz.

Memory clock you times by 4, so you need 2000mhz for 8000mhz effective.

Oh yeah, oops. I have core +160, memory +500. Does that seem right?

Yeah that sounds right.

Run furmark it reports constantly 109.5%

Furmark lol, I stopped using that PoS software a few years ago, it serves no purpose in finding your cards max overclock for games and benches. Didn't both sides code their drivers to throttle it anyway as it was damaging GPU's. If my card isn't throttling in games and benchmarks like 3dmark, that's all that matters to me.

I've been gaming most of the day at 1600/2000 clocks and haven't suffered any crashes or artifacts or anything. Card temp ranged from 55c-68c depending on the game. Seriously impressed and don't have any buyers remorse at all as at these clocks it's a fair bit faster than my 780 was.
