NVIDIA promises 'fastest DX11 GPU on the planet' very, very soon

nvidia market going all out BEFORE amd even releases makes me think they are s*****g bricks.
makes me want to wait a bit longer and wait till the dust settles.

My 460 will tide me over till then...

That's not really a very accurate representation. You make is sounds like ATI was just lucky it went with a smaller core and didn't get burnt by TMCS's failures.

In reality ATI went with a smaller core and applied clever engenearing deliberately to avoid TMCS's failing. Nvidia were just as much to blame for Fermi's failure as TMCS, they should have known there would problems.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting ATI were 'lucky' to go in with a smaller design, they knew what they wanted in that respect :) I'm mainly saying I don't think either company forsaw the scale of the problems that occured at 40nm.

Well all debates aside, i can see both companies putting in a lot of effort to get/put things right and this time around it looks as though the customer may not be robbed blind, i was fully expecting the gtx580 to come in at £440-£480 am pleasently suprised.
If ati's new offerings come into being in the next few weeks am hoping they are watching the market as much as we are and dont decide to go it alone on pricing and keep it under £400.
Now if someone would kindly give me this weeks winning lottery numbers i may consider buying one of each :)

Some quotes from svs22:

According to my sources Nvidia is going to open a can of whoop ass

Why did you say that? The 195.62 are great drivers like the all the other drivers from nvidia. Oo now I understand why you say that because you have an ati card(with drivers that gives you endless troubles) and you want to feel better.;)

Ati just plastered DX11 in an old generation of graphics cards just to beat nvidia and now we can see t he results of that. They managed to beat nvidia on release date but they have no stock and games perform terribly with just a few dx11 effects. Lets wait for nvidia to save the day once more.

Yup, he is also slightly a nvidia fanboy, but not as bad as raven and some others

lol svs22 is no worse than the myriad ATI/AMD fanboys around here.

O yeah he is not the worst, there are ATI fanboys that are just as bad as raven etc. both are just as bad as each other tbh, however I think that the nvidia fan boys posts come across as extreme fan boyish like some of ravens posts.

I will admit that I prefer ATI (not a fanboy of either, have had both nvidia and ATI cards and like both of them, never had any issues especially with drivers), only because of the pricing that nvidia charge for their cards and the fermi release IMO was an epic fail compared to ATI 5xxx cards, due to the heat, noise, and the power required for them, which for me are major selling points of GPUs.
