NVIDIA RTX 50 SERIES - Technical/General Discussion

Normally i'd have upgraded my GPU this year but given all the technical issues with Blackwell and the price gouging i'll sit tight with what i have.

I was considering buying one (or trying to rather), but given all the hoohah and what have you with the release - as well as the poor performance and price gouging, I'm glad I didn't bother!

5060ti sounds worse by the day :(. I'm feeling 16GB version will be 4070 performance for the same money as you could get a 4070 :(, while 8GB variant would just be madness to buy in 2025.

Very optimistic there mate, given how the 60 tier cards have had the worst generaitonal gain in the past couple generations, we'd be lucky for them to even reach 4070 performance. But yeah, being priced mere pennies less than what one could buy a sale 4070 for in recent months... the price-to-performance regression continues on the 5000 series.

This thread and obviously the past hundred or so pages of the very thread you're on right now:cry:

We all know what's going to happen

Hope and optimism is all I have left :p . My 1070ti desperatly needs an upgrade, mostly play esports/indie/aa games, so it's been fine, but now is the time as there are enough AAA built up I want to play and games that need RT to even run (indiana jones, doom the dark ages and I suspect metal gear delta), but I don't want to feel like I've been bent over.

I'm open to AMD as well, but the RDNA4 thread doesn't seem that optimistic either :(.

Ive just asked Gibbo why OCUK are selling 5090s on the website when they have active pre-orders for the same cards, doesnt make sense to me as I thought the meaning of a pre-order is that when stock comes in its allocated to the pre-order customers on a que basis, yet Ive seen OCUK drop Asus TUF 5090s and Zotac Amp Extreme 5090s on the website when people are actively waiting on the same card, the only thing I can think of is that these drops are more pricier than the pre-order price the customers paid

it sounds horrible

Yes.... good question. All the cards listed on the site over the past week or so are at incredibly high prices. The scalping is real. Windforce entry level card up for £2600. Sold out instantly of course. Please report back if you get a response. I don't have high hopes though.

I think you read his post wrong. The delivery came in late so all pre orders will be sent tomorrow, along with the new stock sold today, past the remaining pre orders.

no I think Ive understood the issue here, I personally know 2 people that has pre-ordered the exact same card, yet OCUK sold 10+ Zotac Amp Extreme 5090s and those 2 people have not received anything on that pre-order, no emails not even and weekly acknowledgement.

I also know there are pre-order customers waiting on a 5090 TUF yet OCUK sold the same cards on the website.

It just seems sad and unfair that someone who pre-ordered on day one, spending thousands, waiting for a product, only for OCUK to sell the same product for a bit more money via a direct web order, than for OCUK to honour a pre-order before making it available on the website to bots and scalpers.

With regards to the Zotac we will know for sure tomorrow, I wasn't aware of the Tuf.

But yes if they are selling higher margin units Infront of the pre orders when they have your money, that is clearly wrong.
