It's nothing to do with Price in of itself. And you know fine well that's not the case. I'm saying (and have made very clear) That I believe its a silly buy because the Ti is the same performance for much cheaper. You know fine well that's what I mean.

Sure if the Titan was the only card in it's performance category, then charge/pay what you want. As I keep being reminded It's your money, do what you want with it.

My point is to buy a Titan, when you know a card of the same performance, from the same company is just round the corner is daft. Nothing to do with the price of the Titan, more the fact you are being ripped off because they will soon launch the Ti that will make your Titan look like....well....a stupid purchase.

NVidia set the price for the 1080 founders card $100 above the non founders and $70 above for the 1070, the AIB's have just ignored this and priced the custom variants above the founders cards, knowing full well that they will sell all they can make , such is the demand for these new cards.

I think Nvidia knew that AIB cards wouldn't be able to clock much higher than the reference. So they upped the prices of the reference, so increasing the prices of all GTX 1080/1070's without the gullible reviewers understanding this. I mean, who would pay 150-200 more than a reference card if the performance increase is only a few %? But 50-100 extra than a reference card? Sure that's OK.

The Titan and Ti are not in the same performance bracket and not even in the same market segment.

The Ti is for single or dual use and the Titans are for high resolution mGPU setups.

Horses for courses.

Well clearly a Mod thought it was insulting as well and hence why it got removed. I don't wish to argue with you but please refrain from typing things that are insulting to those that buy them. Regardless if you use onboard GFX or 4 Titan Xs, I like to think we all like hardware and whatever anyone buys is their choice. I have stated I won't be buying a Titan this round but if my PC funds are topped up and I fancy the performance, I might change my mind and buy one but that doesn't make me a mug.
 
The thing I find strange about people going on about the price of the original Titan was NVidia had an even more expensive card on the market that was at the same performance point and no one even commented on it.

OK, apologies for the way I worded it / word I used.

What I really meant by chipping in is that I hope when said Titan is released. I hope people who save long and hard to "buy the best" (Which I am all for) are reminded that they most likely can save a lot of money by waiting a short while for the 1080Ti. Just don't want people to be disappointed dropping their saving on a reference Titan when the Custom Ti will likely perform the same for Half the Price.

I think this'll be my next move too, I'll wait to see if Vega is any good and then buy a nice 21:9 freesync monitor, If it isn't I'm not sure what I'll do as I'll need to upgrade my Fury due to the 4gb limit, I finally got the Windows store working and Forza won't let me max it out because I only have 4gb's and GOW doesn't want me to use the 4k textures as they need 6gb's so I'm guessing that's going to be the on going trend from here on out.

Dual core cards like that generally are more expensive. It was also the card that introduced their high end "thermal".
 
1080Ti I can see quite easily being £900-1000. Titan with its 16gb HBM2 etc I can see being £1300+

It was hard enough buying two 1080's at £600 each never mind two Ti's at £1000+ each.

As much as I love top end enthusiast gear. There becomes a limit. Especially at those prices.

The Titan X was probably my favourite card since my 8800GT in truth. It really coped with everything I chucked at it for 1440P and only the last couple of big games did it start to struggle and even then with everything maxed out, it was still playable with G-Sync for me.

SLI I am not such a fan of but my own fault for being susceptible to microstutter :(

Fair play and Kudos for that :cool:

Anyone buying a Titan/X/P/Z should really be doing their homework if spending that much on a GPU and as evidence since the first Titan, there is always something close to performance soon after. With the original Titan came the 780, half the memory and a few cores down but massively cheaper and the same with the Titan X, the 980Ti had hlaf the memory and a little less cores but again massively cheaper. I expect the same thing this time as well with the Titan P.
