You have to love a defence that is basically, I didn't call anyone names but if you buy a titan your a mug.
How would you like it if I said "Those who buy anything like a 390X is poor"? That would be insulting and wrong, so maybe think before you type and will save you getting people's backs up. Think what you like by all means but refrain from typing stupid things on an enthusiasts forum please.
While your right, that if we didn't buy them the prices would come down. I do think the AIB's should shoulder a lot of the blame for the prices.
NVidia set the price for the 1080 founders card $100 above the non founders and $70 above for the 1070, the AIB's have just ignored this and priced the custom variants above the founders cards, knowing full well that they will sell all they can make , such is the demand for these new cards.
So you are calling me a mug then as I have got 8 Titans in total.
It's nothing to do with Price in of itself. And you know fine well that's not the case. I'm saying (and have made very clear) That I believe its a silly buy because the Ti is the same performance for much cheaper. You know fine well that's what I mean.
Sure if the Titan was the only card in it's performance category, then charge/pay what you want. As I keep being reminded It's your money, do what you want with it.
My point is to buy a Titan, when you know a card of the same performance, from the same company is just round the corner is daft. Nothing to do with the price of the Titan, more the fact you are being ripped off because they will soon launch the Ti that will make your Titan look like....well....a stupid purchase.

they are a lot faster than a pair of 1080s and most likely faster than a pair of 1080 Ti's when they show up.
Well clearly a Mod thought it was insulting as well and hence why it got removed. I don't wish to argue with you but please refrain from typing things that are insulting to those that buy them. Regardless if you use onboard GFX or 4 Titan Xs, I like to think we all like hardware and whatever anyone buys is their choice. I have stated I won't be buying a Titan this round but if my PC funds are topped up and I fancy the performance, I might change my mind and buy one but that doesn't make me a mug.
I spent the money on an Acer Predator X34a monitor instead.
The thing I find strange about people going on about the price of the original Titan was NVidia had an even more expensive card on the market that was at the same performance point and no one even commented on it.
The GTX 690

Gotta love the optimism there. . .
Only to be crushed by the new Ti when it arrives!
OK, apologies for the way I worded it / word I used.
What I really meant by chipping in is that I hope when said Titan is released. I hope people who save long and hard to "buy the best" (Which I am all for) are reminded that they most likely can save a lot of money by waiting a short while for the 1080Ti. Just don't want people to be disappointed dropping their saving on a reference Titan when the Custom Ti will likely perform the same for Half the Price.
Pff, that ended boringly civilized, i'll get it started again, i think anyone using crossfire or 290s are mugs.
