NVIDIA's & ATI's Latest Pricing as of end of this week!

Well AMD were biging it up as the "next R300"... personally I think they couldn't get sufficent quantities at the clock speeds they wanted. Which does mean a lot of them should overclock quite well.

That came from Fuzilla, a source you generally distrust.

@ WingZero30 :

At stock in the odd game, yes. Overall no, I really can't see it. I expect there will be a few titles where they are roughly the same though.

Will be interesting to see how well they clock.

Link to where AMD were bigging it up as the next r300. Or have we gone full circle and the rumours have magically turned into AMD stated facts...yet again.

Its possible but my memory seems to be that the original statement was from someone at AMD.

EDIT: Long story short the original statement was one to AMD's shareholders basically saying that Cayman would do for AMD like the Radeon 9700 did for ATI - in a financial sense not performance, I'm guessing its also the basis of the R300 claim on Fudzilla.

The 6950 has been price quite a bit lower than I'd thought! What's the general consensus as to how its like to perform with regards to a 470 and 570.

Was really hoping to see some good deals coming up on 470s. Just upgraded from a GTX 260 and was thinking about going SLI for nice price.

Damn...should have ordered two GTX 470 @ £155 each, now out of stock! doh!!

2 x GTX 470 @ £155.00 each would be a steal, great clocking cards, they can run hot, but good case cooling and decent space between the cards helps, i run my two daily at 751/1502/1674, on stock volts, run as cool as stock, (630mhz factory oc gigabytes), though ive had them upto 800/1600/1700 for bench runs.

Looking at the indicated prices I would expect to see a Crossfire pair of 6950's available sub £400 to maximize the people who are purchasing for Christmas, If you can do a pair for £399 that's a hell of a tempting offer given the availability of GTX 580's. I'd expect a few places to do this sort of offer if stock levels are high. :)

I suspect that once OC'd these will be come the best price vs. performance cards on the market, and anyone who missed the cheap 470's would/should leap at these.

Yep, but ive made a few modifications to my case cooling, hung a 120mm 1500 rpm fan behind the cards.

It allows me to use auto fan when gaming, therefore keeping noise very low, temps in game hit 76-77c, gpu fans dont go over 50%, above 60% they do get pretty loud. But i only set the fan to manual when running higher clocks for benchmark runs.
