Can I get a few opinions on which case I should go for as a present for the missus to get me for Xmas... I like both cases .. The fact you can have 10 fans on the coolermaster but I also like the look of the hades too which also reviews as being good for cooling too.. Appreciate opinions and thoughts :-) x

hi mate.
i have a hades. it is very good for cooling.
but i have seen good reviews about the 690ii advanced as well.
its really personal preference.
my old case was a generic store case and the hades dropped my temps by loads.
also be aware that you get the 2 x 200 intake fans, and 1x 140mm top fan and 1 x 120 back fan.
you dont get the other 140mm fan for the top even though there is 2 slots for them.
also the fan controller is complicated to wire up (well it was for me)
but i must say, i am very happy with the case.

also with usb ports etc.. at top of case, this is fine beneath a pc desk. but if you are placing on top of desk, this will mean standing to access this.

but the hades is a solid case with loads of room inside and i have not found any faults with mine yet, and i have had it 6 mths

hey yeah i really like the hades and it'l be under a desk so the ports and stuff would be fine, ive read good reviews on both being really solid mid cases.. i do like the idea of having so many fans (upto 10 is it) on the cooler master, and the vga retention bracket is also a great idea... but like i said, i think the hades is better looking and a bit cheaper too. what kind of temp drops did you get?. my cpu load temps are around 67'C but my gfx goes upto 86-90 so would quite like to get these down

I personally have the CM-690 II Adv. and I rate it highly. For a sub-£100 case, it sure brings the competition. If I was bring brutally honest there is a few niggles with it but I am sure you can find a few niggles with every single case on the market. For me though, it houses my Q6600 with my huge Megahalems cooler just fine. Cable management is way too easy too. See this thread for more info and views.

yep ive read that review fella, was interesting and some really nice set ups with the case.. im yet to see anyone whos using a hades post any pics yet, do you have any pics of ur set up on the webby j.col?

hi dea here is a pic, i have tidied the cables since.
also i added a spare fan beneath gpu.
and some wire mesh on the top fan exhaust bays

another problem i found, is where the processor is situated on my mobo, the exhaust fan blocks me from fitting a case fan above it, thats why i stuck it beneath gpu

edit.
i used to have a hd4770 that idled at 60.C and in furmark used to go above 85.C with auto fan.
after getting the hades, it dropped to 40ish on idle and 60ish on furmark
just had a look at the Coolermaster CM-690 II Advanced review on google. (site with similar name to this) and it rates higher than the hades.
if the price is similar, go for the CM

Cheers bud, il instruct the missus to get the cm for Xmas, might give me a bit more room being able to take the hdd cage and stuff out. Thanks for the help anyhow :-)
