NZXT Phantom Enthusiast Cases in both black and white. IN STOCK N0W!

Well I've ordered a Phantom in white a long with a Corsair H50 + 2x Akasa Vipers and some faster RAM so I can eek a little more out of my Q8400 :) As I won't be needing the rear 120mm fan, does anyone know if it's possible to retrofit the 120mm fan in to the front 140mm slot without drilling holes?

Cheers :)

From Craig Brugger video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aZxhvfSVLpM&feature=player_embedded , (4:45) you could mount either 120mm or 140mm so you really don't need to drill anything mate. ;)

Looking at the manual, there looks to be holes for a 120mm in the front (but it could be a dodgy drawing) there is a thread with a quick build of a phantom in it, maybe ask in there or if one of the OcUk guys can have a look.

Quite fancy this case myself, just put off by the door :/

whats wrong with the door? it's the most solid case door i have ever seen and wont break from normal use, just dont go using it to hoist yourself out of a chair and it will last for a v.long time.

Where are you going to be mounting the H50? That's the only thing I'm unsure of what with the clearance issues with the side/top fans.

cant have side/top fans with the H series coolers. they are making a "redesigned" version of the phantom soon to be compatible with coolers like that.

Your kidding?

I don't plan on having a side fan but that's a stupid design if you can't mount an H50 without hitting the top fan! Do you think I should send the H50 back before I open the box and order a different cooler or at least give it a try? I've seen two people who have successfully mounted the H50 without hitting the top fan, others report it does fit though.

Failing that, I might see if it will fit on the side fan mounts with the 2nd HDD cage removed!

Now on to the reason I came here to post in this thread...

Did anyone else's Phantom box arrive and it had already been opened? Mine has two layers of brown tape on the top (it's clear on the bottom) and there are marks where the original tape has been removed.

hope this helps guys. it does fit. in a way but some people still reporting that it wont! im guessing some mobo's cpu sockets sit higher than others and this is what is casuing the problem??? (just a guess)

to Kona* : i suggest you still try with the H50, as there is a "fix" and good luck :)

I can now confirm that the H50 doesn't fit in the Phantom - if the fan mounting holes were 1mm lower it would fit perfectly but the blades of the 200mm top fan hit the top of the radiator, mounted both ways.

Is it possible to mount the H50 sideways? This is another possibility in which case the fan would fit I'd imagine, it's the plastic holders on the top of the rad which make it too big. If not I'll be getting friendly with the Dremel this coming weekend :D

Lol, i have an antec veris on the front of my 902, and it has knobs :/ so the door wouldnt shut, also thats a bit of a bummer about the h50

I've just put all my kit in the Phantom and it was a joy to work with, so much space in there compared to my Antec Solo.

I am missing the USB header cable though, was anyone else missing it? I've had a search of the 'net and I've heard no complaints about this so my box may have been opened as suspected! Another question re: the open box, was anyone else's fan cables cable tied in place on the back tray?

did you try the trick moving the top fans foward?

like i said some people are still having trouble and others have a 1mm gap (like the pic in the link)

Yeah I have moved the top fan to the forward position for the time being - I'm going to make a 200mm -> 120mm converter + air tunnel so I can fit the rad in the top-rear position and use a 200mm fan to cool the rad, plenty of cooling and I'll make best use of the available fan ports.

On a unrelated note, as well as missing the USB header cable I'm also missing two of the fan extension cables for the optional top fan + optional side fan. The optional front fan extension cable came included and looking at a few reviews + box openings of the Phantom they should be included. Created a thread in the Customer Services sub forum to get it sorted though :)

Edit: The USB header and optional side fan extension cable is defiantly included, found this picture from a case review - I've highlighted what I'm missing, can't find evidence this clear that the top extension cable should be included though:

Quick word of warning, these cases are not compatible with Coolermaster Megaflow 200mm fans. Annoyingly as I just tried to fit two of them

But a 140mm front intake fan does wonders for the temps. I'm going to try get hold of 2 NZXT 200mm fans and then see what they are like with negative air pressure :)

BTW guys dont forget NZXT are allready re-moddeling this and the changes should allow for almost any cooler to be fitted.

@Shayper really? dont the holes match up or does it just not fit at all

Holes don't match up at all. Oh and the top fan slot seems to be too small.

I just about got the side fan on, but it kept making contact with my fenrir.

Just ordered 2 NZXT 200mm fans, I "think" they are more low profile so shouldn't be a problem

PFFT! OCUK told me they dont have spare parts for this case!
Not happy with them atm.
Always been perfect in the past :(

I'm sure they don't stock them but when they supply a customer with a case which has missing parts they either have to a) replace the entire product or b) source the missing parts from the manufacturer. I think they realised that sending back a 11kg case would cost more than a USB header cable and a fan cable; I don't think theytold you wrong, just more that they had to source the parts in my case :)

I've had a few dodgy dealings in the past when RMAing something with OcUK but the last two times they have been really helpful when I've had an issue, so far this is going pretty smoothly!

If your desperate for spare parts then I'm sure you could contact NZXT directly - most manufacturers (in my experiences) will supply spare parts to the end user :)
