Which should i pick guys and why?

Going into case will be a 580,Titan Fenrir Evo CPU Cooler for i5 2500k, only one 3.5 hard drive. Standard mobo, psu (not modular) etc.

I prefer the look of the Lian li but the NZXT is a full tower so more spacious.

Not sure which has better cooling out of the box. I dont want to go buying extra fans and stuff.

So if you had to pick, the NZXT or Lian?

The lian li will be superior build quality, however with the nzxt you do get a lot for your money and it is by far the best case nzxt have ever made. If you can put up with the looks of the nzxt I'd consider it as it is top notch inside. Personally however I would take the lian-li.

I wouldn't mind it so much if I didn't feel I would get terribly judged at uni for it haha. At home I wouldn't mind it so much as I think in black it is passable.

Im going for the phantom. Im not crazy on the style but i think its better value for money compared to the Lian Li. Plus it full tower so nice and spacious.

I always have a soft spot for NZXT cases (my first case was an M59). In general you get a lot for your money, they often aren't badly designed (they're always at least ok), they try things out with styling, and the build quality is good.

Lian Li on the other hand tend to be a little expensive for what you get (rarely coated interiors, never as big, or as many features perhaps), but always have 'enough' features, and are always stylish (besides the Dubai-style case and the Spider one), unobtrusive, with excellent build quality, though the anodising has a tendency to scratch without anyone even touching it. Their cases are nice and light which does make moving them around less of a chore.

The Phantom is meant to be the best case NZXT have ever made, and is certainly spacious and cool, without being an Antec or Coolermaster style-wise.

In my opinion, I'd go for the phantom.

Take it from me, as a user, I have had no problems with the case at all. 'tis amazing :)

I've just ordered the Phantom as an upgrade to my NZXT Lexa Blackline which has taken a beating getting transported to/from uni over the last 3 years. Personally I think the Phantom is a great looking case, especially in white, but I can certainly see why people don't - it's hardly subtle.

Ive had my eye on the red Phantom. Has anyone got any real world pics using this case? Its not to everyones taste but i think it looks awesome and i'll be buying one as soon as i have the cash. The Lian Li is too boring for me.

I have the black phantom and its great really happy with it although it is very large but I dont mind the looks too much.

I would also take the Lian Li over the NZXT, altho the NZXT is a good case, but it's not quite up my street in terms of looks and arrangement of fans (as well as the number of them - which will be helpful in keeping things cool, but I don't want many fans as I prefer quiet, altho the Phantom does seem to be known for being quiet ~?).

If you're only going to use one 3.5" drive and don't want the option to add another, then you could take the drive bays out of the Lian Li and have the intake air go directly to the motherboard.
