O11 Dynamic XL On Steroids

The project looks epic so far! I've often thought about down sizing case and then getting an external rad like the Mo-Ra3. A quick question, how do you power the res, pump, and fans, An external PSU?

To power the MO-RA 3, I have 2x Active split 9 to power 9x fans each requiring 2 Sata power connectors and one D5 pump which is also Sata powered. As this combined will draw more than 53w I have a 3 Sata to Molex adapter which will extend to a molex connecter at the back of the computer. Molex can handle 130+w The PWM 4 pins have been combined to 1 cable with a splitter which also extends to the back of the case as well as the pump 4 pin.

If Im using the the MO-RA outside for cooler air I will use a separate power supply and leave the fans and pump running at full speed.

Currently a few things are holding me back from building the final PC.

- Still configuring the PC, taking ages to fine tune. Really limited by the silicon quality of this 13900k.
- Waiting for an EK flat cold plate to improve temps of CPU (Hopefully)
- Waiting to see if the 13900KS releases on 12 Jan (CEX will confirm this beginning Jan)
- RMA replacement of the Corsair AX1600i as it died on me.

Did you get a 13990ks? If you’ve managed to test it, did you get a good one?

No not got one yet, will be in a week or so. Using this extended period of waiting time to give my office/game room a total make over. I've ordered the EK direct die too which won't be here until End of Feb. Will have to wait 1- 1.5 months now to finally build this PC lol.

Lol. Let’s hope that waiting time doesn’t get extended or you might run out of things to do

G.Skill DDR5 8000 installed, but bottlenecked by the CPU's IMC. Couldn't really get any better results than the Team Group 7200. Such to say the TG 7200 is a solid set of ram sticks. Both booted to 8600 mhz but were stable enough only to do an AIDA run. I'll wait until the 13900KS comes out with stronger IMCs which will hopefully makes these Skill 8000s shine. For now though I have finally stabilised at 24/7 tight 8200 CL34. Only the CPU left to work on now before I start building the final system.

I honestly think you’ve done well with the memory. I’ve seen a few people not even able to boot XMP at 8000 on the gskills, it’s hit or miss. I was going to get them but over £500 for something that might not work on my board isn’t worth it. I’ve got 7400 at the minute and will keep these for now. The CPU is the limiting factor for you though unfortunately, someone bought 3 13900ks and only one of them would boot at 8000 with that memory.

Speaking of which. Ram heat sinks are on now. Just need to screw the block on. Waiting for the GPU block though. Pre-ordered that the day before the 4090 was released too!

Love that board
Have sent a unit over to Buildzoid . Believe he's got lucky with a 13900KS with good memory controller. Will ship with 7800Hz kit but cant remember which one .

OC3D will be running this with EKWB Tec2 cooler as well , though i dont think KS chip is as good

I guarantee the 13900ks he got was pre tested.

You mean you sent him a board personally?

I've got an SP112 KS coming with P Core 122 and E Core 92 and a Super Cool 13th Gen Direct Die block. Hopefully both here next week. Once tested Ill finally start building this PC

I've stuck with my TG 7200 kit as that seemed better than the 8000 kit. With my 13900K I had 8000 CL32-45-16-45-32 stable, but really want 8200+. I think 8000 is only hard to get if you don't have an Apex. Getting above 8000 on an Apex is down to the CPU IMC assuming you have a decent A-Die kit

Yeah the Apex is the one to go with, it’s a great board.

How did you manage to get your hands on that CPU? I was going to buy a KS but I’d probably have to go through a few before settling with 1.

I bought it from a OC marketplace from a guy who binned a fair few of them

Still cheaper than going through 3 13900ks with still no guarantee. At least you know what you are getting is decent.

Hopefully you can get the GSkill 8000mhz up a bit. Look forward to seeing how this ends up. Tuning memory is a tedious task, but worth it in the end.

Small update. Started my new office now, just waiting on Shelves before I can piece it all together and My 13900 KS has arrived. Just waiting on the Direct Die block now.

Definite improvement.
I don't know much about most of those stats...but I recognise a 6GHz clock when I see one! Very nice :D I've got a couple of workloads that would like that sort of clock speed. Depressingly, one of them is a Minecraft server (I've got a kid with a megalomania issue ;) ) and that seems to only use 1 thread so GHz is king and the fact there are another 15 cores all offering 2GHz is of no benefit

The 6ghz is just the volts needed to run it at that. The 13900KS boosts to 6GHZ, but hoping to set an all core 6ghz when its direct died. Without DD it can do 5.8 at the moment all core
