My O2 contract is up on the 15th of this month. I'm currently on the old "Pro" contract paying a discounted rate of £15 pm for the "up to" 20Mb D/L speed. I get @16-18Mb usually. Had no issues with O2 at all since I joined up with them but reading between the lines, it looks like their new packages are a fair bit different from the old ones. Specifically in relation to traffic shaping/management.

Has anyone gone over to the new packages signing up from the previous ones on a new contract?. How are you finding it?. I'm not a massive downloader to be honest but I am concerned about the TM issue a little.

Thanks for any feedback. :)

You dont need to sign up for a new contract, the old one will continue on a 30day rolling basis on your old terms.

The only way to get your present condition would be to join BE at more money As stated just let your present contract roll. Oh and don't go for their telephone package as thats the new negative package

So if I just leave it alone I'll remain on the old package with the same speed and no traffic shaping ad infinitum?. This is what I'm on at the moment :-

Does anyone know how they are implementing traffic shaping? Are they using Elecoya boxes or something along those lines? I am using o2 at the moment (have been for a few months) and my download and upload performance seems identical to my old BE package.
