I can vouch for the Samsung Wave S8500. However it has now been replaced by the S8530. Same phone with a slightly larger screen and newer firmware. The OS is Samsung's own. Admittedly it is nowhere near as good as Android or iOS however it is buttery smooth, can playback HD DivX and XviD and has an appstore. Prices at around £270.

Lol it appears I am too late. Good choice with the Desire though. Admittedly a better phone than the Wave.

Just a quick one to thank you all again. I've had the Desire a couple of days now, so I've had a bit of time to get used to it and customise it a bit etc. I'm in love. The browser is amazing, and it's impressively speedy. I wouldn't go back to my brick if you paid me, now. Thanks again!
