Oblivion Screen Shots in HD on 360 - Awesome

i hear its a good game but enough oblivion threads please, i mean us 360 lot spam the console forums with lots of 360 but can we have 1 oblivion thread.... go on then maybe 2 :p

It's look's no better than it does on my PC, I was going to get it for the 360 but I think I'll stick with this version and not have to drown out the 360's drive.

Gotta say unless I'm missing something, those screens in that link don't look anything special, what's the big deal?

As an owner of an HDTV, and currently playing Oblivion on the 360, I have to agree.

The scale of the game is undeniably incredible, but as for the pure quality of the graphics themselves, I honestly dont think its that great.

Sometimes you do get shots where it looks very good indeed, the first scene as you come out of the sewers springs to mind, but most of the time it looks like a 1-2 year old PC title IMO.

Totally agree, the game goes from being literally STUNNING to looking like it's nothing new, however, the game never looks bad and thats what impresses me. :).

I started oblivion on my pc lastnight it was a bit stuttery but impressive all the same. My little bro has it for his 360 and I watched him play it at the weekend. It was on a normal CRT but all the same i thought it looked mighty impressive. Those HD screenies are gorgeous. When i see them it makes me wanna buy a x360.

*goes to count his pennies* :D

Ive gotta admit, im not impressed with those screenies. At all.
Apart from the last one, its not that impressive visually. Theres a lot of blureyness on the landscapes textures. B&W2 looks better imo.
/waits for fanboys.

It looks better than that on my 14inch TV running 480i imo

Probably makes sense because the smaller the display, the less stretched the textures would be etc. It probably looks best at 720p or below.

Its obvious we were seeing doctored images and vids before, as i was dissapointed with the gfx, they do the job but its a good game to play.

I very much doubt it looks better on a 14" standard tv than on a hdtv, am running my 360 in 720p and i can instantly see the difference over that comapred to me standard tv.

Very true, you won't see the true detail on the textures on such a small TV, plus smaller TV's tend to not show jaggies as bad as a HDTV too from what I've noticed. The only thing I prefer the 480i TV's is for the original Xbox games.
