Occassional Lockup on Shut Down in Vista

Hi Guys,

ive got a strange problem, im getting occasional lock ups when shutting down on vista, it logouts out and goes to the "shutting down" screen but every other time the machine will lock up and i will have to power it down manually.

Specs:

Dell E520
Antec Trio 650w
Core 2 Duo E4300 1.86ghz (not overclocked - Its a dell

)
2GB DDR2
Standard Dell Motherboard (Not sure what this is, havent checked)
Ati X1950 Pro 512MB
160GB SATA HDD

Anyone have any ideas?

This is highly likely to be a driver issue.

Installed anything new recently?

its a new pc so a lot unfortunately.

my X1950, MS Wireless Desktop 1000, Media Centre Remote

But all have the correct drivers installed. :confused:

Have a look in the events viewer

- Start
- All Programs
- Accessories
- Command Prompt
- Type in eventvwr and press enter

Expand the windows tree and look under the System and Application logs for any errors (indicated by red ! icons) then post back here.
