October Holiday help

Hi all, i'm very under travelled and trying to plan a holiday for me and my missus, itll be early October (around the 10th) which aligns with her birthday and it has to be hot and 7-10 days.

I've been looking at Turkey (Marmaris) at £350-400 per person All inclusive including flights, shuttles etc in some 4 Stars.

Anyone have any other destinations they can contribute with? were mainly going all inclusive due to costs but have checked the hotels out from tripadvisor reviews to check that the all inclusive food isn't horrendous.

If you want to go to Turkey can I recommend Kalkan or Kas. They're far nicer places than Marmaris and considerably less commercialised. Kalkan has in excess of 100 restaraunts with the majority of them serving fantastic food, both Turkish and English cuisine are served.

We stayed in the Hotel Pirat (Kalkan) in May and went B+B so we weren't restricted to eating out in the evening. The best restaurants we visited were The Aubergine, Trio, The Alternatif, Kosk, and the Gironda which is probably the most impressive eatery you'll ever experience with its roof terrace overlooking Kalkan harbour!

I guess it depends what you want out of a holiday? If you want crazy nightlife with lots of young talent to oggle over and plenty of nightclubs then Marmaris is the place for you. If however you're more like me and my wife and want a nice chilled more relaxed holiday then I can't recommend Kalkan highly enough.

First time to Turkey, really enjoyed it. Even better with no kids and chavs. Lots of Russians were staying there too.

It was very hot every single day, not a single cloud. The food was awesome as well.

We went to Marmaris on a day trp from Rhodes, from what I saw it wouldn't be a place I would want to go on holiday as its a crap hole although we were around the town.

I agree, it's a crap hole. We were the other side of the bay right next to the marina in our gated complex.

As above, go to Kas. It is wonderful.

Have a look at villa plus, should be able to get a good deal on there. As for where to go it depends how hot you want it but canaries are a good place if you want guaranteed hot weather from what I've been told
