Finally got around to doing this. Its usually kept clean but hadnt had time.

No befores sorry.

Wheels + arches
----------------
Blast with Aldi APC 10:1 to loosen dirt and brake dust
Miniature wheel brush and microfibre washmitt for the inners and washmit for the faces.
Washed with Simoniz car shampoo

Bodywork
---------
Hosedown to remove any loose dust/debris
Quick wash with Simoniz shampoo + lambwool washmit
Hose to rinse
Meguiars Water Magnet to dry.

Wax
----
Tried some new stuff, Meguiars Gold Class paste wax. ($5 with free applicator!) So bargain really. Worked pretty well on the supplied pad primed with some Last Touch. Buffed off with large microfibre.

Wheels received the same wax and trims done with Endurance gel as were the tyres.

Some afters in no real order (have removed most swirls but a few still remain...)

remids me...must clean car...even if it is 12yrs old, a good clean would do it the world of good (admitedly it needs to be drowned in t-cut, but ah well)

..oh and nice shiny clean car

Quality results

How long did it take you to get it looking like that?

Just a couple of hours. My first attempt at de-swirling took a tad longer! Need to go over it again with the rotary polisher now I have some Last Touch which keeps the polishing pad nicely lubed.

ive followed the bits up to the washing then drying the car

but its at this point i got stuck with what to buy and what to do ?

care to provide a simple a guide as to what you did ? do you just apply the wax then just rub away at it with a cloth ?

After washing wanna give it a clay bar

Then a nice swirl removal stage ie megs stage one paint cleaner or t cut variety.

Then Polish recommend using AG Super Resin Polish - fills swirls and imperfections nicely.

Then finally a wax megs gold class or similar or a nice long lasting carnuba.

Then wait 24 hours and give it another wax.

Good results LL, but can see some nasty swirls on that rear pillar.

Aye, missed quite a few parts with the rotary polisher. I need to spend more time. Got a good section of them out - think the car was subject to a LOT of mechanical washers in its time.

Very nice colour and car there fonzee.
