got link but scared to post and face ban hammer lol @ gibbo you can get the 7740x retail for exact same price at a competitor edit sorry just looked its 5 pence cheaper there

Need to do better on 7740x pricing, retail version has been available at that price for a couple of weeks, was considering it but the cost of mobo and only 4 cores put me off.

7800x not looking too bad though, provides an option while 8600K stock is limited.

That has nothing to do with it

of course. Intel didn't paper launch their new CPU with practically zero availability thus completely negating the perceived value of their previous generation in a panic at all. Totally running to plan :D

Oh, AMD's cheaper and massively available in time for the holidays, the fools :D

Really it looks like it is. So what is the reason?

Their consumer CPU's stepping up to 6 core 12 threads would clearly take away sales from their 6 core 12 thread 'previous' gen HEDT systems. Genuinely wonder what the reason is.

Not sure if you've noticed, but it's quite hard to get hold of a 8700K. There's not really a singular reason here and none of it reflects well on Intel, however, it has nothing to do with low demand.

What about the Asrock board, the X299E-ITX/ac?

I must say, I didn't look at other sites but OcUK have no Micro/ITX x299 boards on their website

I've checked Scam (M...note the M :D ) and found the MSI Intel Core-X X299M which looks decent enough.

Noticed low stocks on 8700k but that would actually mean, if they were worth having, Intel could hold or increase their price of skylakex.

Still heard nothing to suggest that 6c12t coffeelake hasn't eaten into skylake x.
