** OCUK EXCLUSIVE - AK RACING & AROZZI GAMING CHAIRS **

OK, so I've just finished setting mine up (AK Racing Gaming Chair) and I thought I'd post some photos and things as well: http://imgur.com/a/d5sGD

Some of the photos are quite overexposed (or upsidedown/rotated) - sorry about that, only have my phone camera.

[EDIT] I should probably weigh in on the quality issue: other than some of the plastic being a little cheap I'm fairly happy with the overall quality of the chair.

comfy? reckon it will last?

I'd agree that the stitching on the bottom of the seat isn't exactly tidy, but it's certainly solid. Considering it's on a part of the chair which I'm not normally going it see, I'd rather it be solidly attached than neatly stitched. All of the visible stitching is fine.

Similarly with the base, the scuffs are really very minor and don't really impact the function or the look of the chair.

what about strength of seat, seat stability, pump, prolong seating comfort etc

It is fairly comfortable - while I'm not exactly sinking into it, it's more comfortable than most office chairs I've sat in. I'm not really sure that the extra cushions are necessary.

Barring any physical damage to the chair I think it should last. The cover is textured cloth and I've seen similarly covered office chairs lasting for a good few years.

I think I've answered about the strength of the seat in my other post. There's a bit of wobble which I think is caused by how the pump attaches to the seat (the seat essentially rests on top of the pump with no screws or anything). The range of height adjustment isn't very high but that's fine for me as I need it to fit under my desk. The range of tilt adjustment is very high (going from almost vertical to almost horizontal). The armrest height is also adjustable. There's a little bit of play in the armrests which isn't fantastic but I'm probably going to remove them anyway as I don't really like armrests on office chairs.

[EDIT] RE prolonged comfort, I could probably fall asleep in it. I'll have to give it a test (I'll certainly be sitting in it for most of today) but my previous gaming chair was basically a reupholstered wooden dining chair so I might be a bit biased.

Nothing from OcUK on the quality of these units yet?

3 chairs delivered to foum chaps/chappettes today, and not one of them has said the chair is amazing and they have fallen in love?

I know for every good review you read there are 1-2 bad ones, but where is the good one :(

Looks in a better condition than previous pics but still not right IMO.

Any damage or gouging is not acceptable and the cloth looks to be loose/baggy/wrinkled here and there in some of the pictures.

I hope OC are expecting returns on quite a few of these and if it were me, I'd already be on the blower to AKRacing about the quality issues, weak plastic parts, and shipping damage etc to see what they have to say about it and what they will do to fix these issues.

Where are these manufactured and by whom? China? With a 2 year warranty and the prices I would have expected them to be better than they so far appear. The AKRacing website just refers back to the retailer for support or warranty issues so only OC can resolve any of these problems. Who pays for all the return shipping costs for those that are not happy?

Being patient not so worthwhile after all? I hope I'm wrong.

Well I am glad I held off with these. The quality looks shockingly poor for the price. If I was you guys, all of those would be getting returned.

I'm really hoping that these 2/3 that we have seen so far are all the bad press we have left to see - they look far better on the websites than they do in actuality lol

Well I mean on the actual visible parts of the chair, I don't really care if the material around the screws is cut a little rough on the base, I would like to know where I can get an extremely high quality chair for around £200 though as clearly this isn't good enough. I'd like a model number :p

But as long as I can sit nice and comfy while playing BF4 and stay Number 1 :) lol

Is comfort the main thing though foster? I mean it's important but we have paid this vast amount of money mostly because our older cheaper ones have failed?

Is this chair really going to have a better life span than my £50 one from argos? time will tell!

I wouldn't be expecting a Herman Miller for that price, but I would expect something that has reasonably neat and tidy, secure looking stitching, not deformed or looking like it has just been mashed together. I certainly wouldn't expect any of the plastic parts to be breaking/broken out of the box or during construction. The plastic parts themselves from the photos on here look to be very thin and flimsy.

The Ikea Markus chair that I have at the moment looks like it is better quality than these, has a ten year guarantee, and was about half the cost (I was considering one of the upper end AK Racing chairs as a replacement/slight upgrade).

I would hope that the gas cylinder and mechanical parts would be of good quality but it doesn't give you much hope when you look at some of the other areas of the chair that are obviously not of good quality/construction.

Well the seat itself is OK.....but as you have seen there are some issues with the chair not being what it should be in respect of parts of the PU Leather not being finished to a better standard which is what I would have expected for £199
