** OCUK EXCLUSIVE - AK RACING & AROZZI GAMING CHAIRS **

Got a shipment delay email today asking me to call OC. Been told that my custom rig is now delayed again, some parts not in stock and will come in the next week, peripherals such as keyboard, mouse mat and NZXT windowed side panel (which is needed to be sound dampened and fans fitted). One monitor ETA 5th September, the other sometime in September as it is a 4K pre-order. OC will apparently be holding shipping everything until September according to what I was told on the phone. I don't understand this as I only spoke to the guy building my system yesterday and he said it would be built, tested and ship out today?? Don't know what is going on.

The AK chair is not yet in stock so it's likely in that second container which they already said they expect on Thursday. Looking at the further comments here, I am seriously not expecting any of these chairs to be any better than what we've already seen. Even if they are fine on arrival, I reckon they are going to fall to bits in a very short period of time so it's going to be constant requests and long waits for replacement parts throughout the 2 year warranty, then we would be left high and dry after that.

I'm going to hold until I see what is said by Rich on his return but very likely I will just cancel the order for the chair and go for a DX, GTX or GT Omega or something.

Maybe we should all go for one of these LOL:

(Only kidding of course and they are not a competitor given the prices so don't ban me LOL)

Not feeling the love from OC right now. :(

Just opened the box on a thorough inspection all the pieces of the chair are immaculate and all the stitching is where its supposed to be (very high quality wise in regards to the fabric)
Just about to put it together after I eat.
Pic's incoming

My screws lined up fine Ulti-Resis, only complaint i have is the bottom hinge cover that you have to install isnt flush with the other part of plastic, otherwise bloody lovely chair :)

I'm happy it's working out for some of you!

I want one I want to put one together we will make new instructions ourselves and all the feedback will be provided do not worry!

I would recommend that when your attaching the plastic parts push them into the material as far as you can - dont use the screw to pull them in - wait for it to hold tight then give it a half turn back :)

Thanks teshiburu.

Sounds as though there are going to be varied niggles then.

I might just go and get one of those $25,000 Ferrari seats and be done with it LOL.

All built, happy over-all
The back was a pain to put on, but they always are.
No noise, no creaking, no defects (apart from which you can't see, a tiny dent in the foam under where the seat attaches no big deal)
Arm rests are nice and spongy and have a smooth up and down motion.
Very VERY comfortable and the fabric is very nice and smooth.
INCOMING PHONE PICTURES
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Been thinking about it tonight and think I'll get it exchanged when I take it back tomorrow. If there's any further problems with the new one after that then I'll seek a refund.

Is it just me or have the good ones all been premium models?

Would be ideal if we could all go to a local branch of OC and check them before we pay and walk... Hey there's an idea, mobile OCUK tour bus and stock carrying convoy that tours the country.

Ulti-Resis, mine isnt the premium model :)

Personally - cracked plastic is due to over tightening, sadly someone had to do it for the rest of us to know, but the other issues, manufacturing defects occur all the time, i mean hell have we all forgotten sata 6gbs before B3 revisions?

I did think the cracked plastic on that part was due to over tightening but as the quality control seems a bit off it could easily have been a dodgy piece. I was pretty sure, well hoping because I want to get one, that the issues wouldn't affect everyone and it was just bad luck that any defective ones were received by forum users. The one regular chair I saw I was mostly happy about, there was the scratch on the base but I know I'll add a few of my own in no time so that's not a big concern for me, neither were the messy screw cut outs on the underside of the chair. I was a bit concerned with the stitching on that one Pyro and the talks of the plastic being poor but I just imagine it wasn't usual and it just seemed a lot worse because everyone's been waiting and the forum members had problems :p

Sorry, some of these issues were not just 'one offs' in my opinion and experience they were were blatant poor workmanship that has been repeated across many. It undermines confidence in the whole 'brand'. I will now look to another brand. As always , 10/10 for OCUK customer service.

I think before we jump to hasty conclusions OcUK could tell us how many of these chairs they shipped?

I mean there are 4/5 bad reviews here and judging by the photo of one container that could be less than 5% which in the grand scheme of things is fairly normal for the manufacturing industry

Hi

250+ Arozzi Chris Delivered 3 Reported Faults (fantastic success rate for DOA obviously can't comment on durability)

115 Ak racing chairs delivered un sure of total faults. We probably won't know till tomorrow at the earliest.

I think there were about 5 on the forums TwsT where people weren't happy, so my guess of less than 5% wasnt that far off :) and less than 1% for the Arozzis

Hi Guys

As TwsT has mentioned already, we have not had a long enough period of time pass currently to have an indication of what to do to proceed with this.

Ultimately, it is our responsibility to do right by you guys, our sample units were perfect, really nice quality, obviously our purchasing decisions were based on that.

the way we will be proceeding from now on is as follows.

1. Customers who are unhappy with their purchases in ANY way, I urge you to take advantage of our 14 day money back guarantee. We offer this to give you the protection on any purchase you make.

2. Any customers who are not happy and want a refund, we will provide this of course without question.

3. We will happily arrange a FOC collection for any chair you wish to return within UK territory.

4. If you want a replacement, we can offer that also.

just go through our usual support channels to arrange.

I have been awake for the majority of the last two days so I am going home to sleep until monday, TwsT will be checking this thread for more feedback and we will be compiling all feedback to forward to our suppliers.

The return rate currently is very small so we will need a few days to really assess what models have issues.

RJK - thanks for the post, grab some sleep then come let us know the statistics for returns, also let us know AK's standpoint on the quality of some units received.
