Hello

As you can see, this is an MSI only competition.

Please read the competition rules as it does clearly state that the board used but be the MSI :)

MSI will remove any entries that do not follow the rules in post one.

Thanks :)

really nice idea, but overclocking on sandybridge is just multi's.

Ocuk should do a generic overclocking competition. Any hardware, no limits, and judge the results on something like bang for buck. Even if the prize is an AMD hat or something, will be great to unify us all in a competition that involves our hobby :)

Maybe be due to his ram timings being tighter?

You both have different bios versions too, could it make a difference?

Ye I just used the timings on the side of my RAM. I have a later beta bios, might roll back and see if that changes anything. Also I have the borked B2 revision board, awaiting for a B3 revision swap, I would have thought I would still have been closer though because of the 0.7ghz more overclock.

So let me understand this.
You can only win an MSI product if you already own a MSI board or to be fortunate to have the latest i5 or i7 CPU?

That kinda excludes a lot of people and is hardly deemed in the spirit of the competition.
It is almost like saying if you are not in the MSI club, go away.

I wonder how many people who may not be in a position to own such high end hardware also feel they are excluded.

Just my opinion, however if anyone else agrees I would like to know.

You know, I think in future, I won't even consider MSI hardware when I come to upgrade.

Bit extreme, but each to his own.

I have to agree kinda.. the sample size of people with that board isn't going to be too huge, then you have to have the correct CPU too, obviously a 2500k isnt gonna trump a 2600k so count that out too.

The winner is going to be using extreme cooling, most likely expensive - which means someone in that position with access to that kind of setup isn't really going to need a 580. Also kinda leaves everyone in the dark as the average user wont be able to compete with some dude who happens to have some liquid nitrogen in his garage. Competition seems to contradict itself on so many parts /shrug

It's an MSI competition, they specify the rules, they don't even have to give anyone anything at all, so how can people complain?

I don't have an MSI board or the latest CPU, so I can't enter either, but I think its a nice gesture to people who have been customers of MSI.

TL;DR STOP WHINING.
