** OcUK FANS! - NEW DEALS AND BUNDLE OFFER **

If the figures are correct then they do look very good fans.

Making me consider changing my fans for the current build, way off finishing so I'll see what reviews they get.

Well I bought some last night, will hook them up to a fan controller and a rad when they arrive and see how quiet/loud they are and how much air they move through the rad!

:D

First impressions seem ok, had one running with my scythe gentle typhoon 900, both fans running about 900rpm and they're pretty much the same noise level. The Scythe is rated at 9db at 900rpm so nice and quiet.

I can't get the OcUK fans to run any lower than 800rpm, the Scythe will and so will the Apache, the OcUK one just turns off though!

They do also have different noises, the Scythe is a more high pitched noise whilst the OcUK ones have a deeper tone.

The first one I tested has a slightly clicky/knocky bearing noise, and I do mean slight! I only noticed with the fan right next to my ear. This only seems to happen at low rpm so I've done the same test with another fan and that has a much smoother bearing noise, I'll leave both running for the afternoon and see if they've quietened down later, maybe give them a bit of time to wear in.

I've not looked up the Scythe figures but the OcUK fans seem to push more air at 900rpm, only testing with my hand though!
I can only get the OcUK up to just shy of 1900 rpm but they do move a lot of air!

Also tested them next to an Akasa Apache Black, the Apache does seem slightly quieter at 900 rpm but at that speed I dont think it moves as much air, once you start increasing the rpm to 1100 though the Apache does get noisier than the OcUK one, the air flow seems to be about the same though.

These are in no means acurate, I've only tested with hands and ears! :p

I'll put the 3 different fans on a rad tonight and see how they fair up against each other.

Just put them on a rad, they seem to match the Apache quite closely up to 1500rpm, I think they may push slightly more air through the rad though! And the OcUK ones go up to 2000rpm so obviously push more air but they are loud on full chat!

Thing that disappoints me is the fact they won't run below about 780rpm, the Apache runs right down to 200rpm and is almost silent at tht speed.
4 OcUK fans at 800rpm still make a fair bit of noise, I'm hoping my other fan controller will be able to run them at lower rpm's but we'll see.

All in all, a good fan for 9 quid.

Did I miss it? What fan controller are you currently running?

Good to see you are having success with them, we are having really positive feedback from users who have the fans installed in their OcUK systems too!

Was using a Scythe Kaze Server fan controller.

Not currently got a system up and running but have got an aquaero 5 LT ready for when I do!

we dont have an ocuk branded tech labs fan but we do stock the standard 140mm Zaward fan.

No worries, just thought you'd be rolling out an ocuk fan for each size.

Ideally looking a black frame/white blade design, it'll go well in the corsair 300r. Back to the drawing board!

Out of interest, is there any reason why ocuk use a wrench for their logo on tech labs, of all the tools that you would use on a pc, a wrench is not really one that 95% of people would ever have to use in a pc (i suppose other maybe than in watercooling). Maybe im missing something obvious but I would have thought a screwdriver would have been the more appropriate tool.

I would look at the NZXT fans. they are superb performers. a little on the expensive side but they are a much more premium product.

because a screwdriver would have looked a bit sparse :p
no real rhyme or reason to it, it was just a design. i think youre reading too much into it ;)

those OcUK fans are @30.9 dBA ? thats pretty noisy

as mentioned in the thread. lots and lots of times, the reason we went for a faster fan is because a fast fan can be slowed down but a slow fan cannot be sped up.

well i have just oredered 4 of these as theya re on offer and will test them on my rad vs 4 bitfenix spectre pros and see how well they fair.
