So if your mobo only has sata 1 and sata 2 connection (mine is older mobo) if you put a sata 3 controller card in then you will get 6 gb speeds or what ever it is ????????? thx

Nice maybe i'll get one in a month or two at the moment i've no real need to upgrade my current one, But i kinda want to start using my laptop again so i could chuck this one in that and maybe get the 240gig for my main system xD, Have to see what my hubby says.

I think personal from my point of view I do have vertex 2 as the SSD performance is very poor and had to force a secure wipe to gain the performance back again but it won't last long. It will be much the same as Vertex 3 too.

My Vertex 2 runs fine, do you have them in RAID as per your sig?

I would like to see a benchmark using this set up, from what was mentioned on another thread the SATA 3 controller (startech) for sale is limited to 4 Gbps because they are PCI-E 1x.

I am going to wait until they come in 3.5" 'shells' as standard!

I know that some are available already, but I reckon they will then appear as more of a direct replacement for a traditional hard drive for the 'average' user.

Hopefully prices will continue to fall, as performance increases, which should also help to boost sales.

This was asked elsewhere without an answer but do you think i will get the full 500mb reads from using the 6GB port on the p8p67 pro motherboard?

The msi gd65 could only do 285mb reads with a c300 while the p8p67 had the proper 350mb readsso unless im missing something a few people need to make sure they actually have a capable motherboard?

Oh my days....'fast' doesn't quite cut it with these does it :p. I think though I'll be picking up a pair of Vertex 2s for RAID when the price drops.
