OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

I don't think it's entitled to believe you should be able to get a new product for a reasonable price at launch without a massive headache. OcUK aren't the bad guys - just a symptom of the ****** up market - but it is a **** poor deal for PC gamers atm.
It's literally the definition of entitled, you believe that you are entitled to buy a GPU at a low cost that suits your cost/value point, with no regard to how the market and supply/demand works.

I'm not saying it doesn't absolutely suck, because it does. Over the last few years, the GPU market has really stagnated in performance/cost, we aren't seeing the generational performance increases like we used to for next to no increase in cost, and the AI boom has killed supply for gamers.

I don't get people coming on here and moaning about the price and sounding really entitled. Unfortunately if demand is way higher than supply then prices go up until the two things balance, OcUK shouldn't be forced to sell at a low price and little margin when all the cards will sell out anyway.

If you don't want to pay £100 over msrp, then wait a few months until the demand drops.
If people are willing to pay £100 over MSRP then that is up to them. Some people will not. Especially when they are approaching 5070Ti price points.

Entitled isn't just believing you're entitled to something. It's believing you're entitled to preferential treatment. I don't think expecting to be able to buy a product at its MSRP at launch falls under that at all.

I think he's saying he sould be able to buy a GPU at MSRP, else what's the point of an MSRP?
I can buy in demand PS5/Apple products at MSRP, so why not GPUs?

Apple are a different ball game as they control the prices sold at, apple is mostly direct to consumer. Not sure on PS as they only have 1 product and don't outsource production like GPU manufacturers do to AIBs.

Oh I get it, sure, everyone should be able to buy a gpu at msrp, but supply/demand means that OcUK are well within their right to sell for what they want. MSRP is only a suggested price to give retailers a starting point, the retailers will then balance their prices against demand and also the price at other retailers to ensure they get the sales.

"believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment." Believing you should be able to buy a gpu at MSRP is wanting special treatment, as you basically want protection from market conditions and supply/demand.

Hi guys, first time poster, just a quick question no really related to AMD but sort of.
I only get the 3 options for pre-10, pre 12, 2 day premium delivery. I sort of remember on previous orders for ocuk, I had an option for saturday delivery? Is that right? Is that no longer a thing? If I'm going to embrace the FOMO, I'd rather get instant gratification.

No plenty of Apple stuff is sold outside Apple shops. Most PS5's are sold outside Sony shops.
For Apple/Sony MSRP is what you pay, ie far more than a suggestion.
For AMD/Nvidia the MSRP is a bait & switch to get good reviews then jack-up the real price.

I just don't think that's a reasonable interpretation of special treatment. You yourself have admitted that the market is rubbish. And yet somehow complaining about said market and bemoaning the fact you can't purchase a product at its advertised price is entitled? It doesn't make any sense.

The time it has taken you to post that and all cards have sold out. At this stage if you are mulling over delivery options you are doing it wrong ;)

If OC are the major stockist of cards in the UK and his time round and they’ve shipped 7-8 thousand there must be a few thousand more spread amongst the others.
