OcUK GUIDE TO ORDERING YOUR AMD 9070 GRAPHICS CARD TODAY AT 14:00

All the talk of principles over price reminds of the Groucho Marx quote.

“I have my principles and if you don’t like them… I have others”.

For what it’s worth I do commend OCUK for at least trying to keep prices reasonably sane all things considered. Yes it’s almost £100 over MSRP but better than the £700 plus we have been seeing elsewhere.

Honestly if this number of drops from AMD keep up we will see prices drop a bit eventually. Though I don’t see MSRP being achievable any time soon.

you must be like me when you want something its fixates you until your got it
I'd planned to hold out to see if things settle down because £650 was hard to swallow when i had one for £569 in my basket for two hours last Thursday, but i've spent the last week constantly refreshing here, the website and stock alert discords and so i'll pay an extra £80 to just not have to do than anymore. :D

if time is money then youl have likely spent more than £80 quid so far refreshing :D

I just don't think that's a reasonable interpretation of special treatment. You yourself have admitted that the market is rubbish. And yet somehow complaining about said market and bemoaning the fact you can't purchase a product at its advertised price is entitled? It doesn't make any sense.
I'll turn it round, why do you think you (and others) should be able to buy something at a specific value (in this case MSRP) and completely ignore market factors?

No plenty of Apple stuff is sold outside Apple shops. Most PS5's are sold outside Sony shops.
For Apple/Sony MSRP is what you pay, ie far more than a suggestion.
For AMD/Nvidia the MSRP is a bait & switch to get good reviews then jack-up the real price.
Prices for apple products at 3rd party retailers are heavily determined by the price apple sells things for in their own stores. Unlike NVidia, apple does not have stock problems with their own store.
PS5 is a complicated story, sony may have agreements with retailers to sell a ps5 for a specific price. AMD can't control the cost of AIBs and their R&D (thats my best guess anyway).

I was the same hence the reason I had 670 max for myself and got 1 today. We are all different and can only afford and are willing to spend what we can.

@Rup Yes and no those examples you gave are both only manufactured by Apple/Sony there is no Asus iPhone or Gigabyte PS5

Yes, I forgot to point that out and I think plays a big part. Apple/Playstation/XBox etc only make the one model themselves, and not have companies (AIBs) make different versions of the same product.

Congrats. I am unable to utilise fully a new card ATM, so I can hold end of the month or little longer.

TUF/Prime flagged up today cheaper then OCUK, would have been delivered.

I cancelled delivery of Giga XT Aorus and Giga XT Gaming OC yesterday. Aorus was £30 cheaper then OCUK current price, Gaming was £20 more.

Stock is about.
I was getting a good amount of pings for the pulse in the £615-£620 range earlier which I would have probably gone for if I wasn't in a meeting.

Not expecting change of price here or other places fully yet. But do expect it will change as supply get better, demand get normal. I'm holding for now.
