Have been looking at this TV. Looks good and got everything I need.

Only problem is, I heard the first batch had DVI instead of HDMI ports. Cany anyone confirm that OCUK are stocking the latest HDMI sets?

Ta!

actually it does, hence why i am asking.

The ones with DVI only have an issue, they have to be sent off for repair to enable the port. It's broken as standard.

Hearing about lipsync issues with this set though, so may leave it.

It is certainly having some teething troubles which I hope they are going to finish fixing sometime soon.
I have one myself and was a little upset by the VGA connection plug and play which tells your PC that its a 17" 4:3 monitor (which scuppers getting it to run at the proper resolution). Apparently it can be fixed with powerstrip but I consider myself to be quite technically minded and just couldnt get it to work from my laptop at the correct resolutions.
I believe all the recent ones come with HDMI sockets, mine certainly did and its a week old.
Lipsyncing issues I havent noticed any, have had it hooked up to a freeview box , dvd via VGA on the Xbox 360 and internal analogue tuner with no probs I could see.
Maybe give the Ocuk store a bell?

Bobbler, are you using an external amp, say for surround sound etc?

The HDMI issue, as far as I know has been sorted. All sets come with it now as standard and it works out of the box.

What's annoying me, is that I am hearing about lipsync problems with a lot of big LCD's. Using the internal tuner or built in freeview seems to be ok. There's a built in compensation for this.

The issue is that when an external device, be it freeview, DVD, console or computer is used, there's a sound delay. Sure, it may be tiny, but it's there because the TV takes longer to process the image than the sound system does. Then add in a seperate AMP for sound. These tend to be dedicated and very quick at their job, so produce the sound far quicker than the TV can produce an image, especially in HD.

Currently, this is my biggest problem. I have a DD5.1 THX setup that's only a few months old. I would like to use it, but I have heard that to get around the sync problem, I will need an expensive amp that can delay the sound by the required milliseconds.

I simply can't afford the TV and new amp.

Every A321 now sold in the UK is HDMI.

Only the etailer who originally launched the product had DVi versions.

Order one from OCUK and you will get HDMI.

I am not using 5.1 external amplifier personally so I cant really enlighten you on the lipsync issue while using one sorry mate.
I do know that I experienced no issues while watching a DVD on the 360 through the VGA connection using analogue surround if that's any help ?

Well!

After reading a 167 page thread (each with 25 replies) on the AV Forums, I have worked a few things out.

First batch of A321's went to a well known supplier. This was back in may, they sold out of them around mid June.

The second batch to this supplier had fixed the HDMI problem. All original sets came with a DVI, despite the spec saying HDMI. From the second batch on, and all batches to other suppliers (including OCUK) have a HDMI socket.

The HDMI socket has been Sky approved and Sky say this is one of the best 32" panels they have tested.

The lipsync issue is mainly limited to the Q321. It affects the built in freeview and most other sources. Some people get it, some don't. The A321 has had very few reports of this problem. The engineers are sure it's a signal problem, rather than a problem with the set. However, it is still more apparent on the Q321 than the A321.

Virtually all lipsync problems are non-exsistant using a seperate amp and surround setup. Since this doesn't get mentioned for the A321, I have to presume it to be a poor digital signal or poorly setup equipment. Thousand of people have had no problem on the A321. Yet, the A321 thread still has people complaining, months on!

After reading nigh on 3000 posts on this, I still wanted this set. So have ordered! Sure, there could be problems, but in 3000+ posts, about 10 said they had issues, which Hyundai are very keen to sort. Have not been put off and should be getting this set tomorrow. (A321, not Q321 BTW)

Can't wait! Everyone says it's superb for the money.

Thanks guys!

If you have an Xbox 360, check the thread about the Component v VGA link......One of them is good, one of them will (I quote) BLOW YOU AWAY..

Hope you like it, and would be good to see you post back a mini review for everyone...

I will be sure to do just that.

The TV sounds great and I am really looking forward to it. I'm also moving into my new house tomorrow (moving some stuff today) so I should have it up and running by Sat at the latest. Can't wait!

And regarding the 360, I already use VGA on a 19" widescreen with a THX sound setup and it is superb!

EDIT: Probably post a review on monday from work. Just remembered, I won't have the net for a while! DOH!

the bf has just ordered the hyundai Q321
it's being delivered tomorrow, we're both excited!
anyone own this tv, and have a review for us?

just got me a A321 and have a question

im using my 360 to watch dvds using a vga cable, res on the 360 is set to 1360x768, does this mean that its upscaling to 720p?

I've had an A321 for a few months now and still cannot find fault. HD content is superb, the SD picture is fine, dvds are excellent using an upscaling player and it's great as a third pc monitor. The Powerstrip tweak to get it to run at 1360x768 really is a non-issue - it's been covered time and again on AVForums. If anyone's struggling I can send them the config.
