We have sold iPods, and other Apple products before (Earphones etc). - Just changed the range to more popular selling items from Apple (Mainly iPads and Accessories).
Not really a change of direction, the only difference is that we have announced it here on the forum. Which people think we are changing, OMGZ, your market, your products! Well it is the same as several years ago, we have sold Apple products before, nothing has changed here apart from we have announced it?

As long as OCUK still sell the latest hardware - which they still do, what's the problem..?Agreed
It is just another step away, from the original owners idea of a computing site for customers, to the new owners ideas...painful to see the site starting to fade away from original values towards the similar Purple shirt brigade shop.
If they stop selling the latest hardware and start replacing that stock with all sorts of random stuff, then complain.

Haha, christ that is shocking.. I read on the a tech news site (maybe Hexus?) how massive Apple's profits are.. Probably costs them £50 (if that) to make one of these then market them at £300-500.. What a joke..

OcUK has as repution of selling quality items, it does not get much better in the Tablet sector than the Ipad.
Gonna have to disagree mate! The Samsung tablets do quite well and the new Google Nexus 7 are selling incredibly well - you should look into stocking these..

This is exactly my point. I'd rather buy a tablet computer from a computer shop than from say a phone shop anyday

hi guys
as you can probably tell, seeing offers like apple products on OcUK is due to an expansion from within the company. the brand/company ethos is not diluting, we are just growing as a company which means two things for you guys.
1. more choice - a bigger range means a higher likelyhood of us stocking a product that is right for you
2. better pricing - the bigger we get, the better we can make out pricing. if OcUK expands and is able to buy even better than we do now, then the savings for the end user are obvious.
these things dont happen overnight but you have to expect growth from a company that has new influences. there are some very negative comments here but nothing mentioned about the huge range expansion of specialist computer hardware in sections such as cases, fans, watercooling, heatsinks, memory, graphics cards.
just check the variety on offer at OcUK in any of those catagories compared to a few years ago! Whats most important is that every product in the catagories i mentioned above are quality products from awesome brands that retaillers you are mentioning simply cannot source or choose not to list.
we are not moving away from our target audience, but catering to it better.

Nice to see you diversify but it does seem a waste of time when if you go direct to apple you get the ability to swap in store etc if faulty!
