That's a nice price right there, but with the X1900XT at only £211.44 inc. VAT I don't think Nvidia are being very competitive at the moment. ATI just seem to be going ballistic with their aggressive pricing.

ATI are the underdogs when it comes to market share so they have to try harder than NVIDIA and hence the more aggressive pricing. :)

Wierd how the tables turn isn't it?

Few years ago = ATi top dog with the 9700pro/9800prox/XT's

AMD = Top dog with Athlon XP/64/Opteron/X2's

And now.........back to Nvidia in the gfx market and intel on the CPU front taking the lead again.

Not that i'm particularly bothered, i buy whatever is fastest/most reasonably priced at that time.

Best bang - for - buck stuff is best :D

Superb prices on the ATi's Gibbo :D

Nvidia have always sold more cards that ATI, unless someone knows differently. Why are the 7900's better than the x1900's? Sure theres the 7950 but thats just two 7900gts anyway........

Not exactly the lead in performance and features the 9700pro had over the geforce 4!

But people still continue to buy them

I almost got one meself thats the scary thing but i was advised to get the x1900xt, so glad peeps on these forums advised me now.

No there was a problem with a huge batch of them, not even sure if they have sorted it yet, i recall the 2 main ones hit were xfx and bfg

When is the Geforce 8000 GTX in :D

I don't care about the 7900 GTX... you are not going to trick me into getting that card when I bought a motherboard that takes Core2 and AGP cards, which should hold me out until the new ones come out :)

Yes.... and ?

Thread title says £229 which is misleading and makes it look as if the price drop is bigger than it actually is. These threads really need to have the +assrape vat as part of the price.

Yes thats the pure Nvidia fanboys, they would rather buy a borked card than touch ATi, stupid i know, but thats how it is. :)

Hmm had my way overclocked 7800 gtx for about a year now with not one problem ever, which is much more than can be said for the x800xt it replaced.
